2. Government have again reviewed the matter and decided to continue the ban
order for a further period of one year w.e.f., 24.01.2001 due to stringent ways and
Means position of the State. Accordingly, Government hereby direct that no furniture
shall be allowed to purchased by Government Departments / Offices, other than
Hospitals, Hostels, Residential Schools and Colleges for a further period of one year
w.e.f., 24.01.2001.

In the reference 1st cited, orders were issued continuing the Ban Orders on
purchase of furniture by the Government Departments other than Hospitals, Hostels,
Residential Schools and Colleges.
2. In the reference 2nd cited, the Principal Secretary to the Government, Raj
Bhavan, Hyderabad has requested the government to issue instructions to Deputy Pay
and Accounts Officer, Secretariat Branch to pass pending furniture bills pertaining to Raj
Bhavan and also to exempt Raj Bhavan from the purview of instructions issued in the
reference 1st cited, as the Governor’s Household is governed by the Governor’s
(Emolument, Allowances and Privileges) Act, 1982 and the Rules made thereunder.
3. in the reference 3rd cited, instructions were issued to Deputy Pay and Accounts
Officer, Secretariat Branch to admit into audit the bills pertaining to Raj Bhavan in so
far as furniture is concerned.
4. Government after careful examination of the matter hereby exempt Raj Bhavan
from the purview of instructions issued in the reference 1st cited.
