Ques. 1: ‘Whatever might have been its original character, it (Rebellion of 1857) soon
became a symbol of challenge to the mighty British Power in India’. Comment
on the above statement.

Trace the factors which led to a split in the Indian National Congress in 1907.
What was its impact on the course of the nationalist movement?
Ques. 2: Discuss the rise and characteristics of the revolutionary movement in India from
1905 1931.

Emergence of Indian National Congress in 1885 represented a political awakening
very different from the earlier pre 1857 political awakening in India.
Ques 3: ‘Gandhi mystique consisted of a union of original ideas with a remarkable flair for
tactics and an uncanny insight in the mass mind’. Comment.
