RESPIRATORY SYTEM

Assalamualaikum w.w
Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen. Its great to see you all.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Rory Cinta Naya. I am from class 1b Rustida Health
Academy.
In this opportunity, I would like to presentation about Respiratoty System .

Do you know what helps your body get oxygen from the air? Right! It’s the respiratory
system. Can you tell me the most important organs in the respiratory system? Yes, your nose,
mouth, trachea, lungs, and diaphragm.

The respiratory system, in anatomy and physiology, are organs that deliver oxygen to the
circulatory system for transport to all the body cells. The respiratory and circulatory system work
together to deliver oxygen to cells and remove carbon dioxide in a two phase process called
respiration.

The first phase of respiration begins with breathing in or inhalation. This inhalation
brings air from outside the body into the lungs. Oxygen in the air moves from the lungs through
blood vessels to the heart, which pumps the oxygen-rich blood to all parts of the body. Oxygen
then moves from the blood-stream into the cells, which completes the first phase of respiration.
In the cells, oxygen is used in a separate energy-producing process called cellular respiration,
which produces carbon dioxide as a byproduct.
The second phase of respiration begins with the movement of carbon dioxide from the
cells to the bloodstream. The bloodstream carries carbon dioxide to the heart, which pumps the
carbon dioxide-laden blood to the lungs.

In the lungs, breathing out or exhalation removes carbon dioxide from the body, thus
completing the respiration cycle.

Respiratory System Diseases:

1. Asthma. Your airways narrow and make too much mucus.

2. Pneumonia. An infection causes inflammation in your alveoli. They might fill up with
fluid or pus.

3. Tuberculosis. A bacterium causes this dangerous infection. It usually affects your lungs
but might also involve your kidney, spine, or brain.

4. Lung cancer. Cells in your lung change and grow into a tumor. This often happens
because of smoking or other chemicals you’ve breathed in.

5. Sarcoidosis. Tiny clumps of inflammatory cells called granulomas form, often in your
lungs and lymph nodes.

Do you understand so far? Anybody would like to ask ? I will try to answer any questions you
may have.

From this discussion I can conclude that we breathe not only to breathe air, but we breathe to
take free oxygen for our body needs . Not only us, but living things on this earth also need
oxygen to survive .

That’s all my presentation. Thank you for you attention.
