Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use
wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or
damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on
a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

1. Install O-ring seal (91) onto cover (92) .

2. Raise the temperature of bearing (90) and install bearing (90) onto shaft (83) .
3. Install seals (89) . Lubricate seals (89) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
4. Install shaft (83) .
5. Use Tooling (D) in order to install retaining ring (87) and retaining ring (88) into housing (84) .
6. Install seals (86) onto piston (85) . Lubricate seals (86) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
7. Install piston (85) .
8. Install sun gear (83A) . Attach Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to shaft (83) .
9. Install housing assembly (84) with shaft (83) . The weight of housing assembly (84) with shaft (83) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).
Remove Tooling (E) .
10. Install bearing (82) into gear (80) .
11. Position discs (81) and gear (80) .
13. Drive pin (78) into shaft (79) (not shown).
Note: Use a new pin (78) .
14. Repeat Step 10 through Step 13 for the remaining gears.
15. Install rings (77) onto carrier (74) .
16. Install ring (76) onto carrier (75) .
17. Install carrier (75) into carrier (74) .
18. Install carrier (74) .
19. Lubricate discs (71) and install discs (71) and plates (72) .
20. Install rods (70) and plate (69) .
22. Position discs (67) and gears (66) .
24. Install pin (64) into shaft (65) (not shown).
Note: Use a new pin (64) .
26. Install retaining ring (62) onto carrier assembly (57) .
27. Compress retaining ring (62) in order to install carrier assembly (57) into gear (63) .
28. Install retaining ring (59) .
29. Raise the temperature of bearing (60) and install bearing (60) onto gear (61) .
30. Install disc (73) into carrier (57) .
31. Use Tooling (D) in order to expand retaining ring (59) .
32. Install bearing (60) and gear (61) as an assembly.
33. Install carrier assembly (57) into gear (58) .
34. Install carrier assembly (57) .
35. Use Tooling (D) in order to install retaining ring (56) .

36. Install bearings (55) into shaft (51) . Dimension (A) is 21.40 ± 0.5 mm (0.843 ± 0.02 inch). Dimension (B) is 10.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.39 ±
0.02 inch).
37. Raise the temperature of bearing (54) and install bearing (54) onto shaft (51) .
38. Install gear (53) onto shaft (51) .

41. Install retaining ring (50) .
42. Install springs (47) .
43. Install plates (48) and discs (49) . Lubricate discs (49) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
45. Install piston (45) into housing (44) .
46. Position housing (44) .
47. Install bolts (43) . Tighten bolts (43) to a torque of 111 ± 11 N·m (82 ± 8 lb ft).
49. Position gear (40) and discs (41) .
51. Install new pin (39A) .
53. Install ring (37) onto carrier assembly (35) .
54. Compress ring (37) in order to install gear (38) onto carrier assembly (35) .
55. Install ring (36) onto carrier assembly (35) .
56. Install carrier assembly (35) .
57. Install discs (34) and plate (32) . Lubricate discs (34) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
58. Install springs (33) .
60. Install piston (30) into housing (29) .
61. Install housing (29) .
62. Install plate (28) and ring (27) .
63. Install gear (26) .
64. Install plates (25) and discs (24) . Lubricate discs (24) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
65. Install gear (23) .
68. Install piston (20) into housing assembly (13) .
69. Install housing assembly (13) onto coupling (19) .
70. Install springs (18) and plate (17) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily
injury.
To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure

and wear protective equipment.
71. Use a suitable press and Tooling (C) in order to install ring (16) .
72. Install retaining ring (14) and seals (15) onto housing assembly (13) . Lubricate seals (15) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
73. Attach Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to housing assembly (13) .
74. Position housing assembly (13) .
75. Use Tooling (B) in order to compress retaining ring (14) . Install housing assembly (13) .
77. Install piston (11) .
78. Install springs (8) , discs (9) , and plates (10) .
79. Install bearing (7) and ring (6) into housing (5) .
80. Install housing (5) and bolts (4) . Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 111 ± 11 N·m (82 ± 8 lb ft).
81. Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (3) .
82. Install sensors (1) to a distance of 0.71 ± 0.18 mm (0.028 ± 0.007 inch) from the gear.
83. Tighten nuts (2) to a torque of 25 ± 5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).
84. Position transmission hydraulic control valve (1B) .
85. Install four bolts (1A) . Tighten bolts (1A) to a torque of 48 ± 4 N·m (35 ± 3 lb ft).
End By: Connect the transmission and bevel gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission and Bevel Gear - Connect".
