Text “Some Great Holidays”

I had a nice summer last year with my family. On June 13 I boarded the air plane
directly flying to Spain. After 10 hours I arrived at the Madrid airport. There, my mother
was waiting for me, with some uncles and cousins. Later we went to Valencia. In this city
I knew great and magnificent places. I went with my family to the "Oceanografic", there I
observed various aquatic species. Then we ride a bicycle through the impressive
architectural gardens of the "City of Arts and Sciences" and the famous "Dry River". We
went repeatedly for walks on the beach. My mother and I would go out to eat the usual
paella and “Kebad” in the restaurants on “Avenida el Sid”. One day my uncles decided to
take me to the “Bioparc” (Zoo). Many times we would get together with friends and play
soccer on the field closest to home, then we went for a few beers. We constantly walked
knowing the confusing streets of the center of Valencia. I discovered great museums, and
famous streets such as “El Barrio del Carmen and its Palaces”. My family and I bought
tickets to enter the different places we found.
We frequently went to the mall, there we bought some gifts to our family when we
returned home. We also used to have dinner there and then went to the movies.
Sometimes at night we would sit in the park closest to home and enjoy a delicious ice
cream while we laughed at our anecdotes. We liked to attend the famous “Colombian
parties”, as they are called there. We attended the minstrels of the “Parque de los Cisnes”.
There we enjoyed beautiful poems, songs, street plays and jokes. Then we rode in the
canoes of "Swan Lake". My mother once took me to the “Parque Natural de la Albufera”,
a place full of history and large rice fields.
One day we traveled to "Alincante" to visit some relatives, there my cousins and I dived
in "Cala Blanca de Javea". We were very happy to be together. Later, we traveled to
"Landete-Cuenca" where we saw large olive, cherry and grape crops.

 Texto “Unas Vacaciones Excelentes”

Tuve un agradable verano el año pasado con mi familia. El 13 de junio abordé el avión
directo a España. Luego de 10 horas de vuelo llegué al aeropuerto de Madrid. Allí mi
madre me esperaba, en compañía de algunos tíos y primos. Posteriormente nos dirigíamos
a Valencia. De esta ciudad conocí grandes y magníficos lugares. Fui con mi familia al
“Oceanografic”, donde observé diversas especies acuáticas. Luego recorrimos en
bicicleta los impactantes jardines arquitectónicos de la “Ciudad de las artes y las
Ciencias” y del famoso “Rio seco”. Fuimos en repetidas ocasiones a caminar en la playa.
Mi madre y yo salíamos a comer frecuentemente paella y “Kebad” en los restaurantes de
la “Avenida el Sid”. Un día mis tíos decidieron llevarme al “Bioparc” (Zoológico).
Muchas veces nos reuníamos con amigos y jugábamos futbol en la cancha más cerca de
casa, luego nos tomábamos algunas cervezas. Caminábamos constantemente conociendo
las confusas calles del centro de Valencia. Pude descubrir grandes museos, y famosas
calles como “El barrio del Carmen y sus Palacios”. Mi familia y yo comprábamos las
entradas para ingresar los diferentes lugares que encontramos.

Íbamos frecuentemente al centro comercial, donde comprábamos algunos regalos para

nuestra familia al momento del regreso a casa. Allí también solíamos cenar y luego
íbamos al cine.

A veces en las noches no sentábamos en el parque más cercano a casa y disfrutábamos

de un delicioso helado mientras nos reíamos de nuestras anécdotas. Nos gustaba asistir a
las famosas “fiestas de los colombianos”, como son llamadas allí. Asistíamos a los
juglares del “Parque de los Cisnes”. Allí gozábamos de hermosos poemas, canciones,
obras de teatro callejeras y chistes. Luego montábamos en las canoas del “Lago de los
cisnes”. Mi madre una vez me llevó al “Parque Natural de la Albufera”, un lugar lleno de
historia y grandes cultivos de arroz.

Un día viajamos a “Alincante” a visitar algunos familiares, donde mis primos y yo

buceamos en “Cala Blanca de Javea”. Nos sentíamos muy felices de estar juntos.
Posteriormente, viajamos a “Landete-Cuenca” donde conocimos grandes cultivos de
oliva, cerezo y uva.
