Studying at NSU campus and Studying at our home

Study plays the most vital role in every student's life. As a university student, we generally study to learn new
stuff to prepare ourselves for a further career. The north-south university is one of the excellent private
universities of Bangladesh in higher studies. But during the adverse situation of the Covid19 pandemic, we are
studying at our home instead of studying at the NSU campus. As a result, we all are facing some changes in the
study pattern. On the other hand, we cannot ignore the benefits of studying at home. There are plenty of
similarities and differences between studying at home and studying at the NSU campus.
 
The first and most significant similarity between studying at the NSU campus and studying at our home is
communication opportunities. Communication is essential for studies. We need to communicate with faculties
and classmates to get help in the study. At the NSU campus, we can communicate with the faculty members to
ask questions and clarify our study-related doubts. We can also study in a group or with a friend. Similarly, we
can get help from the faculty members and study in a group while studying at home using e-mail or joining
online classes. So even if we are studying at home, we can still reach the faculty members and friends whenever
we need help.
 
 
Next, studying at the NSU campus and studying at our home both require students' involvement. If the students
are not involved in their studies, nothing can help them to achieve academic success. Students need to be
attentive to learn things at the university. Otherwise, higher education cannot help them much. At the NSU
campus, we need to attend regular classes to learn and understand the lesson. Students voluntarily take part in
discussions and ask or answer questions. Also, we have to prepare ourselves for assessments like tests,
presentations, and assignments for examining the learning outcome. In the same way, studying at home requires
online classes to learn the course. Students can join in the class discussion using a microphone. We also have to
take preparation for completing assessments. So no matter where we are studying, we need to be equally
involved.
 
 
The final similarity between studying at the NSU campus and studying at our home is time management. Time
management is the key to success. As a student, time is valuable to us. It allows us to take control of our life.
When we study at the NSU campus, we need to make a schedule of the day. We usually include the times for
our classes, group studies, etc. on that schedule. We also make a study schedule while studying at home, which
consists of the times of online classes, reading articles, slides, and books. The schedule helps us to organize a
day correctly both at the NSU and at our home. So studying at both of the places requires proper management of
time.
 
 
The first major difference between studying at the NSU campus and studying at our home is the convenience.
University convenience can have a profound impact on student outcomes. NSU has some comfort like
multimedia classes, laboratories, libraries, book shops, print zone, etc. Also, NSU has one of the best university
libraries in the world. We can find the necessary books in the library. We can buy the books recommended by
our faculty at the book shop. Also, we can buy notebooks, stationeries, and art supplies as well. We can print
our study materials from the print zone. We can also use laboratories for research. On the contrary, we do not
have all the facilities we need for our studies at home. We cannot find all the books we need on the internet.
Also, we cannot buy the required textbooks. Also, we cannot print the slides and study materials at home. There
is no laboratory at our house as well. So, the lacking of convenience may impede the progress of our study at
home.
 
 
Another difference between studying at the NSU campus and studying at our home is the quality. Study quality
differs a lot at both places. NSU provides us a class with standard pieces of equipment. We can join the class in
person at the NSU campus, and the faculty can ensure our engagement in the class. We can also respond to the
class without any obstacles. On the other hand, at home, we may face technical issues like load shedding, loss of
internet connection, shut down of the pc or phone, etc. during the class. These issues interrupt our studies at
home, unlike studying at the NSU campus. So, the quality of studying at the NSU campus is far better than
studying at home.
 
 
The final difference between studying at the NSU campus and Studying at our home is the environment. The
environment is an essential condition to be attentive in the study. The NSU campus has library and study areas
where we can study peacefully without any distractions. But the surrounding of our home is not always
amicable. We live with other people, including kids at our house, who may make noise and distract our mind
from study. Students who live beside the main road they can be distracted by the horns of vehicles. The sound
of mikes, the noise of construction areas, etc. can also distract us from studying attentively. So we can be more
attentive while studying at the NSU campus than studying at home.
 
 
When understanding the similarities and differences of studying at the NSU campus and studying at our home,
we must understand the similarities like communication opportunities, the involvement of the students and time
management, and differences like the convenience, quality, and environment. Even though we communicate
with people for study-related help, involve in tests and assignments, and manage timetable at both of the places,
we have to consider the different convenience, comparatively poor quality of the study at home, and the unalike
environment. But we know during the present situation of the COVID-19 epidemic, we have no way to study at
the NSU campus. Admittedly, we are deprived of the benefits of studying at the university campus. Still, we
should continue studying as efficiently as we can while considering the similarities and differences of studying
in both places.

Causes and Effects of getting admitted to the North-south

University

University offers a student the essential knowledge of life and leads to a better career in the future.
Higher education broadens our minds and also enlightens our souls. Here we can expertise in the
subject we are passionate about and prepare ourselves to work on that field in the future. Unlike high
school, the university gives us a taste of independence. Here we can choose our actions and groom
ourselves according to our choice. So every student dreams of getting admitted to a university where
they can accomplish the goals of getting a higher education. I am not different from the students who
are dreaming of enrolling in the best university as well. So I chose to get admitted to the North-south
University. The causes of getting admitted to North-south University are the reputation, advantage, and
ambiance of the university, and the effects are acquiring proficiency, diligence, and sagacity.

The first and foremost cause of enrolling into the North-south University is the reputation of the
university. The reputation of an institution is essential because it represents the perceived excellence of
the institution, which guides the decisions of the prospective students to enroll with the institution.
North-south University is the 1st private university of Bangladesh established in 1992. Also, North-
south University ranked as the best private university in Bangladesh. International students from India,
Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, China, Japan, and many other countries come here to pursue their higher
education. Several North-south University Graduates are currently studying for higher degrees at the
best universities in the world with scholarships. Most of the North-south University graduates are
working at reputable national and multinational companies worldwide due to their excellent academic
performance. So these facts of reputation attracted me the most to enroll with the North-south
University.

Another cause of enrolling into the North-south University is the advantages of studying here. Before
choosing a university, we should take time to weigh up to the advantages of the university. North-south
University offers most of the demandable undergraduate and graduate programs. The faculties are well-
trained with graduate degrees from abroad. Most of the reputable universities of the world accept the
credits acquired from the North-south University. This university always promotes effective teaching,
quality research, and service. Besides, North-south University provides physical facilities like
classrooms, libraries, labs, etc. The NSU Library is one of the best university libraries in the world with
all the essential books, articles, and journals. The classrooms are equipped with standard educational
technology. Since North-south University also supports co-curricular activities, the students can join
clubs and competitions to gain experience. Considering these advantages, I confidently decided to
enroll in the North-south University.

The final cause of enrolling into the North-south University is the ambiance of the university campus.
The ambiance of a university plays a significant role in motivation, retention, and concentration. It is
essential to create a surrounding in a university that fosters productivity and minimizes distractions.
The North-south has a spacious campus designed by some internationally renowned architects. The
campus is divided by three major units, such as one seven-storied administration building and two ten-
storied academic buildings. The university has 100 classrooms, lecture theaters, and exam halls
equipped by standard educational aids. Also, it has network connectivity, WIFI across the campus,
fully automated library, and labs. Moreover, the university contains a spacious open-air theater and
plaza area, a flower garden with fountains and benches, a game room, a gym, several cafeterias where
students can spend their break hours between classes. There are also emergency medical centers and
pharmacies for sick students, faculties, and staff. The university has separate student club offices as
well. So this twenty-first-century academic ambiance of North-south University has influenced me to
enroll in this university.

The first and significant effect of getting admitted to the North-south University is gaining proficiency
in several fields. Students need a university degree to build their careers in the future because higher
education makes them proficient in some areas that they surely need to cope up with the competitive
world. After getting admitted to North-south University, my English skill is improving day by day
because of NSU’s well-planned courses. My IT knowledge has also increased after admitting into the
North-south University. Working on presentations and assignments, I have gained proficiency in using
Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, and Microsoft office. North-south University helps us to be able to
work in a team. During working on a presentation, we need to communicate with teammates. Also, we
need to listen and accept different thoughts from others. These strengthen our communication skills as
well as team workability. Besides, the deliberate teaching strategies of the North-south University give
us critical thinking and problem-solving skills. After getting admitted to this university, I have become
more proficient than ever.

The next effect of getting admitted to the North-south University is acquiring diligence. Generally,
diligence in a student refers to his hard work and dedication to his study. North-south University has a
competitive environment. The university recruits and retains only the qualified students. I know that
without being a hard worker, I cannot cope up with the education standard of the North-south
University. Also, the university’s grading system is more upgraded than others. Where other
universities offer grade ‘A’ at 80%, North-south University requires 93% to get an A. Besides, the
university’s assessment system is different. Consequently, no student can do well without studying
efficiently. Moreover, North-south University offers a tuition fee waiver and scholarship for capable
students. I never want to miss the chance. All of these strategies of the North-south University have
made me diligent in my studies.

The final effect of getting admitted to the North-south University is obtaining sagacity. It is essential
for a student always to have good judgment and be wise. North-south University provides us some
GED courses such as sociology, politics, history, etc. which helps us to enlighten our minds. We learn
to observe things in different ways. Also, we learn to justify everything constructively. The university
supports us to join in club activities and competitions. There we get to work in the practical field and
meet with different people. Besides, group presentations and assignments also allow us to work with
individual minds. These help me to differentiate among all kinds of thoughts and justify them wisely.
North-south University also lets us to choose our courses every semester. Here we get the opportunity
to think about what courses together will be good for us. In this way, North-south University is
improving my quality of sagacity.

Considering the causes and effects of enrolling to North-south University, I am satisfied that I have
chosen the North-south University for my higher education. Now I can understand that the reasons
behind the reputation of this university are because of their standard. No one can ignore the advantages
of studying in this university and the ambiance is also modern and study friendly. I am gaining
proficiency in different fields after getting admitted to North-south University. I am also obtaining
diligence and being sagacious. I hope these qualities will help me a lot in the future. So everyone
should keep the causes and effects of admitting to the North-south University in mind before choosing
the perfect institution for the higher studies.
