Proper way of carrying microscope is carrying microscope with both hands.

Grasp the arm of microscope


with one hand and 2nd hand placed under the base for support.

Microscope consist of following parts

Eyepiece: it has two ocular lenses. It is used to view specimen.

Body: it connects eye piece to objective lenses.

Arm : it is used to carry microscope and it provides support to the microscope.

Revolving nose piece : it is used to change revolving objective lenses.

Objective Lenses: these have different magnifying powers 4x,10x,40x,100x(oil immersion )

Stage: Placed where we put glass slide. It also have clips to balance slide.

Condenser: Used to condense light coming from light source.

Iris: Used to adjust light

Light Source: Produce illumination and adjusted by using dimmer.

Switch: Used to turn on and off the microscope

Adjustment Knob: also called stage adjustment knob. Upper knob is used for forward and backward and
lower is for adjust side wards.

Focus knob : It is used to focus specimen

Base: To stand Microscope stand correctly.
