I believe it is true that the school’s motto is Ora et Labora which means Prayer and Work and that the school
is known for its colors Red and White.

2. Why do you have to say that these statements are true?

It is because I have already met people who graduated from San Beda University before and from them, I
learned that the school’s motto is Ora et Labora. Regarding the colors, I can say that it’s true since the school
campus is screaming red and white when you look at it. Even from afar, one can pinpoint San Beda
University campus by its colors red and white.

REFLECTION:
Indeed, San Beda University has gone through a lot. This school has undergone changes from different
times. I must say that those individuals who have contributed both major and small deeds have succeeded.
Without the contributions that they have made, San Beda University won’t be the same as what it is right
now. We, the current students of this university, will always look up to those individuals. They will serve as
a model that will be a guide all throughout our stay in the University.

Why do I have to know the History of San Beda University

“I AM NOW A PART OF THE BEDAN HISTORY”

I t has been a year and a half since I became a part of the San Beda family. Yes, my stay might
not be long enough to know its history by heart but ev en the basic know ledge of it made an
impact on w ho I am as a Bedan. Upon my stay, I realized that getting to know my school’s
history is similar to digging deeper connection w ith it. Know ing its history serv ed as fuel for me
to striv e for the better—or even the best perhaps—since I am now one of those people who is
bearing the univ ersity’s pride. Our school’s root is our root and w ithout that, w e w on’t be here
w here w e are now . I may not be pow erful enough to create my ow n change but my
cooperation and passionate w ill to striv e hard for the betterment of the school is more than
enough for me to contribute something that is w orthy to become a part of the Bedan history.
