Team Charter for Team # 2 :

(Used with permission from The George Washington University, Graduate School of
Education & Human Development) Revised 1/20/2020

You may change the format as the team decides but please do make sure that the key issues
are addressed. Be specific!

You should think critically about what you should be addressed in each section, making
notes in preparation for this assignment meeting. During the meeting, your team will write
the policies and procedures you all plan to follow. This is an important document that will,
through the discussion you have about it, as well as what you end up writing down,
establish the ways in which your team will operate. The goal is not to rush through to get it
done but to use the assignment to establish the team norms.

I. Purpose: clearly define the purpose of the team

To achieve an “A” in OGL 343 by working collectively as a team.

II. Roles: clearly identify any additional roles established by the team and any changed
duties from the course list of roles and describe how the roles will be assigned.

Challenger is a role that we have placed a greater emphasis on to avoid group think.

III. Expectations: clearly and specifically define expectations and measurable

behaviors in each area.

Communication (outside of scheduled meetings):

We have all agreed on texting in a group text as outside communication.

Communication and Participation (during meetings):

Round robin when necessary or by selection of the facilitator.

Preparation for meetings and assignments:

All preparation shall be done prior to meeting and assignments should be turned in
when the meeting begins.

Team Organization:

The team shall be organized by the host and every member shall participate in there
assigned roles.

Other:

IV. Policies: define policies as well as corrective actions for failing to meet expectations
including missed meetings, inadequate preparation for meetings, and inadequate or
inappropriate participation in meetings. You can also include rewards for going
above and beyond duties.

1) Missed meetings: Members cannot make up missed interview (Module 6) or

missed sharing of teammate assessments (Module 7) meetings. For other
meetings, team members can earn up to 80% of the available 50 points for
one (1) missed meeting. Define the circumstances that apply if a member
needs to miss a meeting and what work needs to be completed for the team:

I would like to take an empathetic approach on the first meeting as we al have

complicated lives. Work should be turned in within 24 hours of the meeting.
The person that missed should do there best to contribute as much as
possible in the assignment.
NOTE: The limitations on what you can put in the team charter are in the
instructions for Module 2, Assignment 2.2c

V. Operations: describes the process the team uses to function.

i. Decision Making: indicate when and how the team will make decisions

The team shall make decisions in a democratic style and by majority rule. I
believe this is doable in a small team setting

ii. Conflict Resolution & Problem Solving: explain how the team will handle
internal conflict and overcome barriers and obstacles

I believe one on one is the best approach if this cannot be handled this way
mediation should take place at the team level and if that is unsuccessful the
professor should be called upon to mediate.

iii. Process Improvement Procedures: explain how the team will monitor,
implement, and track improvements to team process

I believe the advice process and by review. We will all receive our team
reviews but until then we should be honest and up front with improvements.
iv. Changes to the Charter: indicate how revisions will be made as the team
evolves

The team shall meet and discuss all charter changes. Prior approval by the
team and possibly the professor shall be done prior to any changes.

VI. Timeline and Project Plan: detail how the team will keep track of due dates and
assignment instructions

The team should use google calendar and the syllabus to keep track of all due dates
and projects

VII. Shared Accountability: “sign” and date agreement (each team member).
