During this module, we were given some readings, video clips, and slide show for

the learning and offer ideas of how to build performing teams, deal with conflict, and

manage virtual. In the paper, I will provide an example of each of thing I believe

makes a high performing team. We were given different source to relate to the

learning and how we could experience similar situations.

High Performing Team

First all, having a high performing takes a lot of energy. Whether you are the

leader, follower, you need a lot of energy to be able to motivate one another to do

their best to reach common goal. For instance, in my workplace we help one another

to do their job. We motivate one another to be able to do their task and check on each

other to see how we are doing or how we can improve for better results.

Choosing the Right People

Second, when thinking of high performing team you have to think if you have the

right candidates in your team. It is important that you choose the right people to be on

your team because it all depends on the team for the performance to be good. Having

a good team does make it easier to work together and it improve the performances

because you enjoy the company you have to work with. I think we have a good team

in my workplace because we all share the same goals and we are able to work

together. My leader picked her team well, she made sure her team was able to work

together to reach the common goal. Compare to other site, we seem to be the ones

with better communication and work flow to be smoother than other sites because we

believe we have a good team to work with and we help each other out. I am very

happy with my team because we are not have the connection to work together, unlike

other sites on top of having a hard time to work together, they tend to dislike one

another because of certain way they work and cannot agree to work together to reach
the common goal.

Empower the Team

Lastly, to have a high performance team it is important to always encourage your

team to do better. Empowering your team is encouraging them to do better share

emotional and showing that you care for your team. A big thing about working on a

team is that you can make relationship our of the team. It makes it easier to work with

because you start sharing a bond and you begin to care for the person. In my

workplace, we share a bond because we tend to get together for gatherings and to

catch up because at work we focus on our patients. It is important that you have a

good relationship with the team.

In my workplace, I tend to have a good relationship with everyone because I do

not like to fight and mainly because it is my workplace and I prefer to work in a

comfortable setting. Also, my team is very understanding when it comes to working,

they know that our main prior is our patient. We all shared the same goal so it makes

it easier to work with a team who think alike on the task and how to reach the

common goal. One thing I would change is choosing the people because for the most

part we have a great team but there are times where we wish we can improve. Our

team is great but sometimes they are not fast enough to meet patients needs and it can

be demanding at times especially when we offer walk-in x-rays. Depending who is

working we can have patients waiting from twenty minutes to over an hour and it

would not be fair to have the fast technician working in x-rays all the time while the

other technician gets easier task because of her speed.

During some of the videos, it talks about Steve Jobs how he manages a team and

how he would consider a team to be high perform. During the video, it was an

interview with Steve Jobs and they asked him about what does he consider to be a
high performance team. Listening to the video, Steve Jobs talks about it takes ideas

after ideas to have great performance. In a part it is true, in my workplace we try

different method to reach the common goal if we notice it is not working for us or we

are spending too much time in the project, we went to look for different ideas to reach

the common goal. In the video Steve Jobs talks about that it is idea after idea and

listening to feedback to be able to have a high performance team. Hearing feedback is

important because it is a chance you get to see how others think how your team is

working. It can be helpful because you are able to compare the way they see things

and how others view things and how you combine to have better outcome in the

future. It is very true what Steve Jobs talks about in the video and I definitely take his

advice and input in my daily task at work.

In conclusion, I learned a lot from the module and will continue to input in to my

daily work-task to see how it can get better. Reviewing the information, readings,

slide shows, and articles gave me the opportunity to see how teams work and how to

improve the team performance.
