EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A radio frequency identifier (RFID) tag sensor for the real time monitoring of cracks

in civil engineering building is presented in this work. The RFID tag is equipped with a

piezoelectric sensor able to detect small movements of crack in order to prevent collapses of

buildings or civil engineering structures. The information is delivered by using the modulated

scattering technique (MST) which permits to obtain high operative ranges. The sensor is

passive, the power supply is provided by means of a suitable rect-antenna and a Chockcroft-

Walton multiplier circuit powered by means of the impinging interrogating electromagnetic

wave. A system prototype, operating in the X band at 10 GHz, has been designed fabricated

and experimentally assessed in a realistic scenario obtaining promising results.

This business proposal is about 360-degree security system whereas we can ensure the

latest system of building security system with ultra-modern technology.

The ability to rapidly assess the structural integrity of transportation systems is of

critical importance to bridge owners and the public, at large, for elongated service life,

reduced maintenance cost, and safety.

1 Situation Analysis

1.1 Market Summary

Our organization ‘Hawk Eye Securities Ltd.’ operates in the larger safety and security

industry of Bangladesh. The industry is currently at a nascent stage and is poised for a strong

growth, in the years ahead. The tragedies of Rana Plaza disaster, Tazreen Fashions fire and

countless other incidents have brought global attention to occupational safety and physical

security in Bangladesh, which has resulted in a gradual change in the safety and security

market.

Bangladeshi safety and security equipment and services market is primarily driven by

the rapid urbanization and the ongoing globalization wherein, the need for robust and

technologically updated security technologies is increasing significantly.

Our offerings include -

 RFID System: detects and notifies system about new and existing crack in infrastructure

 Fire security system: uses a sensor to trigger the fire alarm, activates sign & instructions

for evacuation as well as activate sprinklers

Currently, our target market is the RMG (Ready Made Garments) sector, specifically the

factories located in metropolitan cities, as well as any hazard prone area with the possibility

of huge casualties, like Hospital and large industrial building etc. Initially, the target is to

capture a niche market in cities like Dhaka & Chittagong through geographical segmentation

and eventually gaining more market share as our company moves toward the growth stage.

6|Page
1.2 Market Needs

The Government of Bangladesh has ‘Vision 2021' with a target to make Bangladesh

as a middle-income country. The flourishing economy and rapid growth of other sectors such

as pharmaceuticals, hotels, hospitals, power, agriculture, leather, large infrastructure, ICT &

telecom and ship breaking is also contributing to a gradual development of the market.

As we are operating in the Business Market, we need to be mindful of the quality of

the product as well as the competitiveness of pricing as well. Fortunately, there are not many

strong companies that specializes in the products or the bundle of products we are currently

offering, so we have First Mover Advantage (FMA). But we still need to think ahead and

work on differentiated marketed techniques in order to capture more market share before

competitors has the chance to enter the market.

1.3 Market Trends

In Bangladesh, industrial revolution is up growing day by day and as well as, the

incident of building crack and fire is occurring many times than before. As a result, different

types of technology are coming to prevent the disaster. Now-a-days this type of security

system is considered as a need for residential building as we all heavy industry and large

space. Basically ‘Hawk Eye Security System’ is 360-degree security system that ensures the

100% safety security for building with latest technologies.

7|Page

3 Competitor Analyses

Competitor analysis, a vital part of strategic planning in concentrated industries,

involves the use of strategic techniques to evaluate outside competitors.

Competitor analysis has two primary activities – 1) obtaining information about

important competitors and 2) using that information to predict competitor behavior.

The analysis seeks to identify weaknesses and strengths that a company’s competitors may

have, and then use that information in order to improve efforts within the company.

Competitors should be analyzed systematically using organized competitor intelligence-

gathering to compile a wide array of information so that well informed strategy decisions can

be made.

Classification of Competitors

Direct competitors – organizations that have products or services like ours and provided to

the same target markets. From this point of view Hawk Eye Security System have no direct

competitor as RFID system has not been introduced in Bangladesh before and it is the very

first attempt to ensure building security in this country.

Indirect competitors – organizations solving same problem for same target market with a

different product or service. Hawk Eye Security System has at least five indirect competitors

considering the fire security service it aims to provide and these competitors are –

Ltd.’

Brand Mantra: Our Brand Mantra “Feel safe everyday” is a short & crisp three word phrase

that is easy to remember and still communicates the general area we operate in as well as a

simplified articulation of what we have to offer.

Points-of-parity & Points-of-difference:

difference: Points of parity (PoP) are the attributes that are

essential and we share with other brands operating in the same safety and security industry.

Whereas, points of difference (PoD) are the unique attributes that our brand has to offer.

16 | P a g e
We are very much self-aware that our products are not on the lower end of the price

scale, but we intend to provide the best ‘value for money’ at the same time ensuring

‘Customer satisfaction’. Because the only way our customers are going to feel safe is by

ensuring that they are satisfied with our services.

Our value proposition is our ‘RFID technology’ which is a relatively new technology

and only a few companies in the world have been able to commercialize it to provide safety

and security. Not to mention that we have ‘fast response time’ in a time of crisis (i.e.- fire

hazard) due to our central security system. We also have an entire team dedicated toward

‘service monitoring’. (Excellence Security)

Substantiators: Substantiator helps justify the points-of-parity and points-of-difference to

the consumers, it provides factual or demonstrable support. Our ‘cutting-edge technology’

paired with the centrally ‘integrated system’ allows us to provide the fast service. In order to

monitor the service, we perform ‘periodic maintenance’ check in sites. Our ‘regular

investment in research & development’ ensures that people get the best product over time,

thus ensuring value for money. By ‘hiring the best people’ we ensure that we work toward

our promise of service monitoring.

Values: Our values, as discussed earlier, are ‘quality’, ‘reliability’ and ‘consistency’. Our aim

is to create a brand personality that embodies the safety and security through every aspect

possible.

Visual Identity: Visual identity are the elements such as color, shape and form that

symbolize the soul of the brand. Our color pallet is ‘red & black’, where red represents action

17 | P a g e
and black represents power and strength. Our symbol is the hawk or more specifically, tthe

‘eye of the hawk’’ which represents precision, wisdom and strength.

Image: Logo of Hawk

Hawk-Eye Securities Ltd.

Now that we have discussed the company’s vision, mission and values it’s time to set the

marketing objective. For a marketing objective to be effective, it has to be SMART, which

means it must be specific, measurable, achievable, reliable and time

time-bound.
bound. As an emerging

organization, our marketing objective is - to create awareness among 50% of our consumer

base about both the company and its uni

unique
que offerings within the 1st year of operation. We

will attain this objective by our various marketing campaigns, discussed in detail in other

sections. (Increasing

5.3 Place

We have used geographic segmentation in case of selecting our target places of distribution.

Area of distributions are listed below.

I. Urban

II. Sub urban

In the initial stage of installation and promotions, we will focus mainly on urban areas

such as Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and also partially to the sub-urban areas where

commercial buildings, factories, garments etc. exists.

Our areas of emphasis are generally the places where the chances of massive collapse

exist during disasters like fire breakouts and earthquake. Also, we are aiming the points

where massive crowd gathers on a daily basis. Government and owners of such organizations

should be aware of safety of individuals in the places where huge public movement happens

regularly.

I. Commercial Buildings: There are uncountable commercial buildings and

skyscraping tall towers exist in Bangladesh. Sample of our target customers are City

Centre Dhaka, BSC tower, World Trade Center Chittagong, ShuvastuNazar Valley

etc.

II. Hospitals: Safety issues in hospitals are very sensitive. Our target hospitals in Dhaka

cities are Dhaka medical college and Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Square hospital ltd,

Labaid etc.

22 | P a g e
III. Shopping Malls: Massive number of people of all ages and occupation daily

encounters shopping mall. Safety issues are very important here because fire breakout

in such places not only can cause death of hundreds of people but also massive

economic collapse in the country. Our target markets are Bashundhara Shopping mall,

Jamuna Future Park, Shimanto square shopping mall etc.

IV. Garment factories: Rana Plaza incident was a turning factor in the history of

Bangladesh. No one wants repetition of such incident further. Our Target factories are

Beximco Group, Epyllion Group, Viyallatex Ltd. Etc.

5.4 Promotion

We will be focusing on below the line (BTL) promotions mainly because we can get

direct feedback from our target customers which will help us to analyze the market scenario

well. At the same time, we can explain the potential buyers about the detailed offers and

benefits served by us. BTL promotions will help us to acquire customer feedbacks properly.

It will support us to recognize market requirements, customer needs and demands accurately.

I. Brand activation: HAWK eye security system is new in Bangladesh. RFID system is

going to be introduced first time in Bangladesh. Hence, grand brand activation

program should be thrown to capture the attention of everyone especially target

customers. All the owners, business partners of commercial buildings, garments

factories, hospitals and shopping malls will be invited in the program. Needful safety

issues will be showed here. Consequences of the absence of such activities will be
23 | P a g e
showed via video and explained via influential personalities. Grand introduction of

the service of “HAWK EYES SECURITIES LTD” will be highlighted in the brand

activation program.

II. Telemarketing: We will assign a pool of employees who will communicate with

potential buyers through telephone call and explain the benefits of our offerings and

also the safety package received through it. We will also try to complete telesales.

Sales appointments will be fixed through telemarketing as well.

III. Leaflet distribution: We will provide leaflets in all the commercial buildings,

hospitals, shopping malls to raise awareness.

IV. Free sampling: There are many types of corporate fairs that takes place in

Bangladesh. We will install our stall in it and show the customers how to operate it

and the benefits that one will get through it. We will also provide free tips and

suggestions regarding must take actions during fire breakout and earthquake.

Social Media Promotions: Social media is the part and parcel of our today’s life. It is the

easiest and cheapest medium to raise awareness among massive crowd which will

automatically grow demand in our target buyers. Mediums such as Emails, Facebook, Blog,

Linkedin etc. will be used to advertise our product and its benefits.

24 | P a g e
6 Feasibility Analysis

In terms of feasibility analysis, we have opted for two major screening.

1. Technical Feasibility

2. Environmental Feasibility

Technical Feasibility

RFID technology has been used for quite a long time now, so a system designed based

on RF communication is by itself quite robust and sound. The idea of this device is to

transmit RF signal through the structure and receive the signal, then analyze it for the

consistency it should have in case of a crack less structure. But if the signal strength deviates,

then we can conclude that there might be some type of anomaly in the structure if the

building. RF receiver, after receiving the signal, hands it over to the processing module to

analyze it with respect to the standard level and give anomaly input if anything goes wrong.

Then we can publish this input via several methods according to the customer demand. It can

be expressed as a loud alarm, or using the cellular device, a SOS type of message can be sent

to the local fire brigade or the owner himself for prompt action. With present robust GSM

network of our mobile companies and existing reliable modules, feasibility and accuracy of

this solution can be easily vouched for. (Noguchi, 2008)

In case of firefighting, we will be using state of the art equipment with high level

detection accuracy. Special attention will be given to the fire prone sectors and unsupervised

25 | P a g e
or rarely visited portion of the establishment. It can be a location where a boiler is situated or

a temporarily vacated place like dinning with a gas oven. Fires that can spread unnoticed in a

less crowded place can pose a great danger to the life force of the establishment. It is

imperative that a proper fire detection system, coupled with an escalation system and

emergency evacuation path are present. Our firefighting solution provides just that, firstly a

super accurate detection system in smoke detector, then an escalation system in the form of

fire alarm and emergency shutdown mechanism along with escape pathway. With proper

optimization, we will be able to provide a reliable system within a reasonable mean.

Environmental Feasibility

This RF system is completely environment friendly as like any other RF technology.

As it uses existing GSM network to notify, no additional frequency interference is foreseen.

Necessary chipsets and tags are according to the health code as well, so is the conductive

paint. As for the firefighting, all the equipment will also be of high-grade material. From the

architectural point of view, our solution will be aesthetically appealing as well. From

equipment placement to RF tagging, everything will be done according to detailed design.

Financial Analysis

Financial analysis is used to analyze whether an entity is stable, solvent, liquid, or

profitable enough to warrant a monetary investment. Here we will be making this analysis

with the help of two tools:

1. Cost Projection

2. Sale Projection/Cash Flow Statement

26 | P a g e
Cost Projection

We will table the estimated cost here:

Total Solution Costing (Per 2000 Square Feet) in BDT

Crack Detector RFID Cost Fire Fighting Set Cost

Instrument Cost Instrument Cost

RFID Tags 4000 Fire Alarm 2000

RF Reader 20,000 Smoke Detector 10000

Cellular Module Solution 2000 Sprinklers 20,000

Conductive Paint 25,000 Extinguishers 12,000

Copper Wire 4000 Emergency Pathway 6,000

Miscellaneous 5,000 Shutdown Mechanism 10,000

Total 60000 Total 60000

Total Cost of Hawk Eye Solution 120000

As we can see, approximate total cost for a 2000 square feet establishment is around

120,000 BDT. Thus, if we fix the selling price at 200,000 BDT, it’ll give us an 80,000 BDT

markup per unit. And we can use Cash Flow Statement with the help of sale projection to

verify our project’s future profitability. Some information needs to be mentioned here that, in

terms of investment, we are estimating:

a. 50 lakhs from 5 partners.

b. 1.5 crore from bank loan @13% interest.

27 | P a g e
We will look into projected cash flow from year 0 to year 4 to determine an estimated
break-even point. Below table will help us finding the break even point:

7 Action Plan

The action plan is one name for the portion of the business plan in which your account

for business operations that weren't covered in the marketing and sales plans. The marketing

and sales plans spell out the steps your business will take to achieve its financial and sales

goals. The action plan explains how you will operate and manage your business. It also

addresses the back-office activities that don't relate directly to providing goods or services to

customers.

Before Commercialization

Setup:

Initially we will setup an office so that we can operate our business smoothly and

thoroughly. Moreover, we will initially make a warehouse where we can stock our products

and can assemble each and every product smoothly.

Hiring:

We need to hire some young and tech-savvy employer to maintain the business

properly. To operate the business, we will hire managerial positions and field workers.

Training:

30 | P a g e
This business model is completely new in our country, so need to trained our

employer ensuring global standard so that they can setup this properly. Again, we have to

ensure that type of training so that they can easily complete the maintenance activities.

Promotional

As this business model is completely new in our country, we need to set our

promotional activities properly. As we are highly focused of BTL, we need to create some

liaison with the parties.

After Commercialization

Sales Monitoring:

Sales Automation

Our sales monitoring systems will start before sales teams will be involved in the

process. By automating certain tasks like lead qualification and task assignment, sales reps

will be better able to spend less of their time on consuming tasks and more time guiding

prospects to desirable decisions.

Visual Sales Process

Sales monitoring won’t just about making easier work for the sales rep. It’ll also be

Campaigning

We plan to campaign in both online and offline platform. As our fundamental target

customers are industrial safety concerned owners, they tend to be quite tech-savvy, so online

campaigning possesses greater success.

LinkedIn

By creating an informative company page and connecting with the target customer base, we

can kick start our online campaigning.

Facebook

Almost in the same way of LinkedIn, we can use Facebook’s huge traffic for our benefit.

Website

An informative & updated website, along with regular SEO will make our sales team’s job

quite easier as it will draw huge traffic from the online platform. With prompt support, it’ll

turn into a paying customer portion.

Blogging

We can use the blogging platform to share the experience and raise awareness also. In the

midst of all the hazards that Bangladesh has, raising awareness can be a very life-saving

method as well.

Email

Last but not the least; we can use point to point communication in form of emailing in our

campaign as well, albeit we must be careful about boundaries in this aspect.

Conclusion

In a progressive economy like Bangladesh, awareness is the key element of

sustainable development. As technology thrives, so do the associated risks. This project of
ours, along with serving as a business plan, can be termed as an awareness project as well.
This also serves the social well beings portion of a business. As we all know, the holistic
approach of business comprises all the parameters of a healthy society. We hope, with our
project, we can contribute to that, even for a small percentage.
