QUESTIONS ABOUT DEFINITION

Q#1:

Ans: Denotatively, appetite is just a prolonged satiation.

Just as a yank to achieve something that your body wants.
Appetite is mostly used for wanting food. But Lee’s definition
holds something more of a creativeness. He delineates it as a
curiosity that makes you sense you are alive. That tells you that
there is till some other stuff left to do. So, wait! Don’t think you
are done with your life. Feel the appetite and feel the liveliness.
Lee believes fulfilling the satiation kills the appetite. The state
of appetite is more delightful than the state when the appetite’s
been killed.

Q#2:

Ans: This essay of Lee’s is a definitive essay and holds the

explanation of an abstract term. He uses very conspicuous ways
to define this concerned term. He first defines “appetite” in such
a distinctive way that it makes the reader skim through the
whole first paragraph. Then in the next paragraph he defines the
same meaning of this word but in such an inexplicable way that
it obliges us to read it fully. He maintains this art of his
throughout his whole essay, thereby, entertaining us.
He defines the word “Appetite” throughout the whole essay but
through different and unique aspects and that’s how he
maintains the sight of the reader on his foolscap.

Q#3:

Ans: He could have peered out of the box to see if he could

have written it in a sense not providing the word “Appetite” to
the reader itself but still serving him with the feel of this word.
His essay exhibits he has a lot of feelings to explain “Appetite”.
So, he could write it intelligibly in a way not providing the word
“Appetite” to the reader by only asserting the statements that
described the word and not the word itself.

QUESTIONS ON DICTION AND WRITING TECHNIQUES

Q#1:

Ans: This diction of his puts a very colossal idea about the
very meaning of the word across my mind. It makes me
understand that this curiosity of longing for the multitudinous
tastes of food is more appreciable than actually achieving those
tastes.
Q#2:
Ans: “Lust”, most certainly, is used in strongly negative
sense. It means to crave but for having off with the opposite
gender. A positive word could play a better part here in this
essay. So, “crave” or “desire” are more better words.
Q#3:

Ans: Yes, he uses personal experience to good effect as he

mentions an incident about his childhood when he lingered over
a toffee and realized that curiosity was better than satiation.

Q#4:

Ans: The writer develops paragraph # 4 by means of

comparison and contrast in which he opts for a single option of
appetite rather than choosing satiation, He also provides the
reason he opted this. Moreover, this organization of paragraphs
provides a clearer view to the reader what the writer opts and
why he opts what he has opted.
FOR DISCUSSION, READING AND WRITING

Q#2:

Ans: Yes, I agree. It is always better to be curious rather

than having that thing. In fact, writer writes that he could even
fast just to feel and love the appetite nonetheless of achieving
the satisfaction. Actually, this process happens with me daily.
Whenever I order cheesious burger, it really feels good to
remain in the state of wanting it but this state vanishes all when I
have not even left a single particle of its bun on the table.

Q#3:

Ans: To remain in the state of wanting is more lovely than

satiation. A person always tries to achieve a bigger pleasure. To
remain curious to get something is unprecedented when it’s
compared to the state when you have achieved the thing.

Q#4:
legerdemain
Sometimes, when, you can’t win some certain bouts just by your
hard work, you have to let gamesmanship introduce itself into
the bout. It’s the mind that you play with just to win the game
and not the game itself. legerdemain is the act and talent of
using ploys and trick to win a certain game. It gives a
psychological benefit to the player. It’s a step by step procedure
in which it gradually turns the player biased to let you win. All it
needs is timely decisions to make the opponent gradually turn to
you. Indirectly, it’s a procedure that leaves behind no opponent
to fight with because it turns the enemy to your side as you
present the ploys to make the opponent obey your orders.
legerdemain is an important thing to win a greater proportion of
matches.
