1. The electromagnetic spectrum is the range of frequencies of electromagnetic radiation and their respective
wavelengths and photon energies.
2. They only differ from each other in wavelength. The first diagram has all the details we needed including
wavelength, frequency and photons energy. While the second diagram shows only wavelenths.
3. Visible Light
4. Infrared Rays/Radiation
5. Red light has longer wavelength, and blue light has shorter wavelength. In other words, blue light has more
energy, so it oscillates more within the packet than red light does.
6. Blue light
7. Xrays are shorter than radio waves.
8. Yes!, gamma rays are shorter than x-rays
9. AM radio waves are longer than TV Waves.
10.NO, Electromagnetic radiation can be expressed in terms of energy, wavelength, or frequency. Frequency is
measured in cycles per second, or Hertz. Wavelength is measured in meters. Energy is measured in electron
volts. Each of these three quantities for describing EM radiation are related to each other in a precise
mathematical way.
11.Microwaves are electromagnetic waves with relatively long wavelengths and low frequencies. They
are used for microwave ovens, cell phones, and radar. ... Radar stands for radio detection and ranging. It is
the use of reflected microwaves to determine vehicle speeds, track storms, or detect air traffic.
12. Red has the longest wavelength
13. Violet has the shortest wavelength
14. These rays have so much energy that they can pass through many materials. This makes them potentially
very harmful, but it also makes them useful for certain purposes.
15. Sound waves is not part of electromagnetic spectrum.
