Objective: To obtain the Veterinary Assistant Position at Sherwood South Animal Clinic to further my
experience in the field and gain knowledge along the way.

EXPERIENCE
JANUARY-PRESENT
VETERINARY ASSISTANT, SIEGEN LANE ANIMAL CLINIC
-I play the role of a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant simultaneously.
-I feed and take care of the dogs that are boarding, along with those that are recovering from
surgery.
-I assist the veterinarian when appointments come in, with things such as annuals, check-ups,
samples that range from blood to stool, and many other tasks such as cleaning.

SUMMER 2018-SUMMER 2020

CAMP COUNSELOR, KAJUN MARTIAL ARTS
I started off as an assistant counselor, keeping an eye on the kids and ensuring that the rules
were followed all day.
-As my time there grew larger, I became a head counselor and I dealt with overseeing the
volunteers and assistant counselors, ensuring that kids were safe and daily tasks were getting
completed to obtain a good environment for the kids.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Communication (with coworkers and clients).
The ability to openly discuss patients clearly
with clients as well as the veterinarian so that
they have any and all of the information they
need
• Empathetic. I am able to empathize with the
clients and really try to understand the issues
that they are describing and ensure them that
we will do the very best we can.
• Physical stamina. I am not vertically
advantageous, but I have the strength to
handle animals of all sizes that attend a
veterinary clinic.
• Passion for animals and their health. I am
willing to help in any way possible to ensure
that an animal’s health is moving in the
right direction, since they are not able to
heal themselves or communicate.
