I am a driven Rutgers student who is looking to gain knowledge and experience in the animal
field for my future goal of becoming a Veterinarian. I would like to apply for the Bound Brook
Veterinary Technician position. I have a conscientious work ethic and the ability to function at a

Professional Experience:
Veterinary Technician: Kenilworth Animal Hospital 09/2016 – Current
Kenilworth, NJ
-Perform proper patient handling techniques.
-Identify and prepare medication and medical procedures.
-Assist in surgery, administer vaccines, perform radiography and lab work.
-Communicate professionally and efficiently with clients.
-Sterilize the hospital, care for boarding patients and formulate the weekly staff schedule.
-Front-desk work: organize files, schedule appointments, answer the phones, etc.

Volunteer and Leadership Experience:


Volunteer as Medical Director: Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society 01/2016 – Current
North Brunswick, NJ
-Care, clean and feed the animals for a minimum of 3 hours weekly.
-Administer medications, flea treatments and vaccinations; insert microchips and pull
blood for lab analysis.
-As a team, coordinate with the other Medical Directors to determine the necessary
medical procedures required for all of the animals.
-Utilize multiple computer systems and extensive recording methods for every medical
procedure.

Animal Experience:

-Attended classes with horses, sheep, goats, swine, chickens, and currently with cattle.
-Learned to handle, feed and care for large animals.
-Administered deworming treatments in horses, sheep and goats.
-Witnessed parturition in swine, sheep and goats.
-Castrated piglets and bucks, docked sheep tails and tagged ears for identification.
-Participated in equine nutrition and exercise physiology research.
-Bandaged and assisted in medical procedures with horses.

Rutgers University Psychology Research 05/2015 – 01/2016

-Analyzed neuronal firing in relation to drug addiction, food addiction and motor
movements in rats.
-Conducted two neurosurgeries on rats with the purpose of inducing Parkinson’s disease.
-Nurtured, cleaned and fed the research animals; the research animal Veterinarian noted
that my lab had the most well behaved rats in Rutgers due to the attentive handling and
care taking.
