PROBLEM STATEMENT:

In the world of technology, communication plays a vital role in the overall development of an
individual and also of the nation. India has the largest youth resource in the world but we
often fail to utilize it completely. Unemployment ratio is high in rural areas as compared to
urban regions. This doesn’t mean that people in rural areas are uneducated or unskilled. They
lack the information about the jobs and also unaware of the opportunities around them
whereas the people in urban areas have easy access to these information. In addition to this,
students in rural areas fail to get the information about the competitive exams and also about
the scholarships and privileges provided to them by the government. Farmers are also not
getting the valuable price for their crops due to interventions of intermediates. All these
problems are due to lack of usage of information –communication technology in villages.
This gap has to be filled in order to overcome the above problems.

EXIXSTING MODEL:
Government has set up various helping centres where people can get the information through
the official helpers appointed by the government. But this system is not efficient because the
time constraints of the helping centre and also people has to pay every time they visit the
helping centre and also peoples don’t know exactly what’s happening in the process. They
have no option other than believing the workers of the helping centre.
We have innumerable android apps which provide the information about all the government
schemes. But in rural areas people are not used to operate android phones and also they don’t
have easy access to internet.

PROPOSED SOLUTION:
Our idea is to setup a kiosk machine which is used to get the information about all the jobs,
scholarships and details about the crop buyers which is used exclusively by the one who is
need of it. Our proposed system serves three purposes:
1. Helps in providing a platform to connect the applicant who is willing to work and the
one who want to hire him.
2. Provides important dates and details about the competitive exams which help the
students.
3. Farmers can use it to get the details (such as name and contact number) of the dealer
who buys the crop. This avoids the intervention of the intermediates.

Components and their interactions:

Job Applicant:
The Applicant who aspires to get a job has to first visit the kiosk where he first register
himself providing all details needed by the company people to hire them. Once the
registrations is done, the applicants receives an ID and pin which he uses to login for all his
further transactions. The details are stored in database and is processed according to his
qualification and the jobs which suit his resume. Then he applies for the job of his wish. And
his information will be sent to the company that has vacancy. Any further communication can
be done using the chat box which is an inbuilt feature of the kiosk. If there are willing to
proceed then the company contacts the applicant through his contact information and in this
way the kiosk help in connecting unemployed and the companies.
Farmers:
Farmers are innocent people who are misled by frauds who are responsible for less profit or
even loss to agricultural people. So we wish to include a separate module in our kiosk where
farmers are made to have an updated information about the dealers, traders and the current
price of each crop in the market. By this there is no need of intermediates who steals their
profit in the name of guiding them. Farmers approaches the kiosk and selects the crop of his
choice and his locality based on the option provided, the kiosk display the contact
information of authorized dealers and traders And also gets the current price of the crop on a
particular day. So that he directly contacts the authorized buyers and sell his crop to fixed
price and gains all his profits. By checking current price the farmer can sell his crop when the
price is high and by this strategy he can avoid loss.
Students:
Government school students in rural areas are not aware of the recent competitive exams. So
we include last module in our kiosk which is designed for students who gets the information
about all the exams. The kiosk displays the exams which can be taken at the particular level
for student and its age bar. When student selects the exam he wishes to attend he gets the
detailed information about the exam, its syllabus, crucial dates and also the information about
the authorities who are responsible for that and also the website information where they can
fill the forms and get registered.

TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES:

The Tools and Technology that we are using in our project are HTML, CSS, SQL, XAMPP
and PYTHON.
HTML:
HTML elements are the building blocks of HTML pages, with HTML constructs, images and
other objects such as interactive forms may be embedded into the rendered page. In our
project it is used to create a webpage.
CSS:
A CSS Framework is a software framework that is meant to allow for easier, more standards-
compliant web design using the cascading style sheets language. In our project it is used for
styling for tooltips, buttons, and elements of forms.
SQL:
SQL Is a domain specific language used in programming and design for managing data held
in a relational database management system. SQL is used for query processing.
XAMPP:
XAMPP is a free and open source cross platform web servers solutions stack package
developed by Apache Friends, consisting mainly of the apache http server, Maria dB
database, and interpreters for scripts written in the php and perl programming language. This
is used in our project to store and retrieve the information from the database.
PYTHON:
Python is an interpreter, high-level, general purpose programming language .It provides
constructs that enable clear programming on both small and large scales. This is to write the
code for searching a job.
Scope of our solution v/s Existing model:

 Our system is user- friendly compared to existing system.

 Availability of service is not limited. Service is available 24 hours.
 The users are not needed to pay for making use of our system. Service is free.
 There is no age limit to make use of our system.
 There is no intervention from anyone in the middle. Direct communication takes
place.
 Applicant can check the status of his application anytime he wants.
 All the instructions will be in English language along with all the regional languages.
So there is no issue of miscommunication.
 An ID number and a pin for each individual, who is registered, are provided. So his
information is secured.
 There is no possibility of getting fake information about the jobs, contact of crop
buyers, and cost, competitive examinations. Only authorized information will be
provided to the users.

Expected outcome:
In our proposed system, we mean to provide solution for the problems that occur in rural
areas such as lack of information about the employment opportunities around them,
communication gap between the farmers and the buyers and students not having information
about the government offered scholarships and information about the competitive
examinations that might help them in getting admissions in good colleges or in getting jobs in
future.
Here, we are using a kiosk to take the information from the person (both educated and
uneducated) who wishes to apply for the job. The kiosk machine, after accepting the
information entered, stores it in the database. This information provided by the applicant is
used to decide the jobs which can be given to the applicant based on his qualification and his
skill sets. The applicant is contacted directly by the job provider.
The kiosk is also used by farmers and students. It provides information of the buyers (such as
their contact numbers) that helps the farmers to sell their crop directly to the buyer at a
reasonable price. It also helps students to know the details about the government offered
scholarships and about the competitive examinations.
