Chapter 10: Social Relationship

LESSONS ON LEADERSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP FROM FABLES

1. The Farmer and the Stork

Many people believed that the same feather flocks together. It means that most people associated each
other as one means that they have the same interests, ideas, or characteristics. It also reminds us that
we should accompany good friends that can influence our personality to become successful because
other people see who we are based on the person that we accompany. Sometimes even we are good if
we accompany bad friends, we influence us, therefore we should choose our circle of friends.

2. The Hunter and the Woodsman

As a hero we need to be brave, it means that we should do what we say. We should have a word of
honor. We are admired by another person but in times that we faced adversities and we need to prove
to them that we have the courage to do it. There are times that a person is brave only on the words that
they say but they cannot do it. If you have courage; it is not the absence of fear but a triumph over it.

3.Bear and man lying down

A true friend will support and stands you in any situation. They never abandon you in any difficult
situation instead he is looking for a way on how to get out of that situation. They are willing to help as
long as they can, to make you survive adversities. They are not only there during your happy times such
as drinking wines, leisure, travel, etc. They are the one who is there for you in times of struggles. It is
the saying “if you’re absent during my struggle, don’t expect to be present during my success”.

4. Goatherd and the wild goats

Old friends should not be sacrificed for new ones. Having a true friend for life is a blessing and it is
considered a precious gift in our life. The relationship is much stronger than the new one. Old friends
must understand us better compared to the new ones. They already know our strengths and
weaknesses. We are likes and dislikes, they can help to guide us. They are the ones who truly love us.
New friends will come and go but my friends are always there to stay.

5. The Man and the Little Cat

We should not treat people according to what they appear to be, we should first understand their
problem before jumping into conclusions. We should treat others with our ethics, not with theirs. Treat
the people the way we want to be treated by them.
