INTRODUCTION
An escalator is a power driven , continuous moving stairway
designed to transport passengers up and down short vertical
distance .
Escalators are used around the world to move pedestrian traffic in
places where elevators would be impractical.
The benefits of escalators are many like they have the capacity to
move large numbers of people.
THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
There are two types of companies that supply escalators:-
1 -Primary manufacturers 2 -Secondary suppliers
Conventional mechanism
An escalator is a continuously moving staircase so the core of
an
Escalator is a pair of chains ,looped around two pairs of gears
and an electric motor runs it.
And mainly each stair has a pair of wheels on each side, one at
the front of the step and one at the rear.
The wheels run on two rails which are placed on top and bottom
The inner rail dips beneath the outer rail, so that the bottom of
the stair flattens ,making Structure extending between two
floors, as the chain move ,the steps always stay level
