If were willing to watch with a sense of hope, they can inspire new thoughts,

directions and even dreams. Sometimes we need a little make believe to make us
believe. Or a dose of life-affirming reality. We have to believe that making a
change will improve our story. Life is not a fairy tale, but it can be our tale. We
just have to write it.

Even though we say we dont care about Log Kya Kahenge?, it is somehow hardwired
into our DNA. We give ourselves tags. Even before others can raise fingers at our
character, we do it to ourselves. But have we ever thought why? This film has made
me realise that I am solely responsible for how I steer my life but that doesnt
have to do anything with my opinion and my choices. And also that if you and I tend
to change our partner for one reason or the other, it doesnt reflect on our
character, it reflects on how confident we are about what we want.
I also learned that not every risk is worth taking, no matter how big an
achievement it leads us to. I realised that instead of putting ourselves through a
painful journey, it is okay to pick the easiest option available. Because at that
point of time, it is the best decision to be made. And this applies not only to our
career but also our relationships.

I realised that you always have five people around you who have your best
intentions at heart. These people make you love yourself, bring the best out of you
and you do not have the fear of being judged around them. But even these five
people are not constant. However, at every point of your journey, you will find
people you can count on. And a few of them, even if they go away, will always leave
some beautiful memories for you. So, if losing people has become one of your
concerns then you should know that it is perfectly okay.

In the mad rush that is life today, we have also forgotten to forgive people.
Mistakes happen, after all, we are humans, but that doesnt mean anyone is to be
punished for an entire lifetime, right? In fact, we should talk to them and get
away with the differences. During this process, we might yet again find the old
charm that connected us to this one person, and you never know where the bond might
take you.

But all of this doesnt mean that we need a Jehangir Khan in life, until unless he
is someone as charismatic as Shah Rukh Khan. We have such people around us but all
we need to do is take out time for ourselves and be fearless about putting our
concerns out there.
After I watched the film, I came out smiling and the first thing that I did was
thank people for known and unknown reasons. Caught up with friends who were left
behind because of a busy schedule. And yes, all of it did make me happy. So, for
me, Dear Zindagi was all worth my time this weekend.
