Finding Your Chief Architect Product Key

The information in this article applies to:

QUESTION
I am interested in buying a new version of the software and would like to take
advantage of an instant rebate o er. The rebate requires my previous software's
Product or CD Key, and the name that I used to register the software. Where can I nd
this information?

ANSWER
Your previous software version Product or CD Key and the name you used to register
are required so that we can con rm your eligibility for an upgrade rebate.

Product Keys will apply to Chief Architect X4 and newer programs.

CD Keys will apply to Chief Architect X3 and prior.

Product or CD Key
Your Product or CD key is the registration code composed of numbers and letters that
you entered when you rst launched the program after installing it. The location of
your Product or CD key will depend on whether you downloaded the software from
the internet or installed it from physical installation media.

If you installed the previous software version from physical media, your Product Key
may be located on a sticker within a plastic DVD jewel case or on a paper insert.

If the software was purchased as a download from Chief Architect directly, then the
Product Key can be found by logging into the My Account
(https://accounts.chiefarchitect.com/) section of our website and accessing the
Digital Locker.

Likewise, if you purchased backup media, then the Product Key will not be located
on the disk or other installation media, but rather in the Digital Locker.

Chief Architect was available for students through Amazon.com for a limited time. If
you purchased through Amazon, your Product Key was located in your account
information for the download.

If you're using an older version and cannot nd your CD key, make a note of your
Serial Number found in the Help> About dialog. Then, contact our Sales department
(https://www.chiefarchitect.com/company/contact.html) at your convenience.

Please note that our upgrade pricing and/or instant rebates can only be obtained if
you purchase from Chief Architect.
