ITC:

ITC was incorporated in 1910 as the Imperial Tobacco Company and was later renamed as
ITC Limited in 2001. It is one of the largest private sector companies in India and also a
diversified conglomerate with businesses ranging from Fast Moving Consumer Goods,
Hotels, Paperboards and Packaging, Agri-Business and Information Technology.
ITC World Class Indian Brands:
Within a relatively short span of time, ITC has built over 25 mother brands, many of which
are market leaders in their segments. This vibrant portfolio of brands represents an annual
consumer spend of over 18,000 crore today. ITC’s world-class Indian brands anchor
competitive and inclusive value chains that create, capture and retain larger value within
the country as opposed to brands owned overseas that rely on global supply chains besides
necessitating payments in the form of royalties.
Some of the important ITC brands incude Aashirvad, Sunfeast,Bingo,Classmate, Yipee,
Engage,Fiama most of which are top of their respective segments.
Complementing the growing traditional distribution channels, ITC is making rapid strides in
the emerging e-commerce space through collaborative planning, driving customisation and
through higher discoverability of its offers across various platforms. The distribution value

Industry Outlook:
ITC is one of India's foremost multi-business enterprise with a market capitalisation of Rs
3,64,388 crore (US$ 52.69 billion) and gross sales value (includes all taxes) of Rs 75,309.36
crore (US$ 10 billion) in FY19. ITC is rated among the World's Best Big Companies, Asia's
'Fab 50', and the World's Most Reputable Companies by Forbes magazine. ITC also features
as one of the world's largest sustainable value creator in the consumer goods industry in a
study by the Boston Consulting Group. It provides employment to around 36,500
employees.
Coporate Social Responsibilty:
Creating Highly Collaborative Multi-stakeholder Partnerships is a key element in ITC's model.
In most initiatives, ITC works in close collaboration with NGOs and target communities.
NGO's are Project Implementation Agencies, interacting directly and extensively with target
communities who have the final say in major decisions - ensuring that the interventions are
suited to their needs and thus have the best chance of sustained success in the long run.
Some of their intiatives include E-Chaupal Ecosystem, Afforestartion programme, watershed
programme, solid waste management program etc.
