Reflections:

1.
❏ What I learned: Something I learned was how to use Microsoft Word. I
usually use google docs but Word has more features. I also enjoyed reading
other people's papers. It's interesting to see who or what inspired them to
want to become teachers. All of our scores were different.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A strength I saw was that it helped the class get
to know each other. It helps make the class feel more comfortable. A
weakness I saw was that sometimes we may not want to share a lot of
personal information with everyone.
❏ Activity:An activity I would do in my classroom, would be to make
elementary students write a paragraph about themselves. I would then post
the paragraphs around the classroom without their names on the papers so if
some students don’t want to the class to know what they wrote, they won’t
have to.

2.
❏ What I learned: Since I never used Microsoft Word I learned a lot in this
activity. I mainly learned how to use all the tools word has. I enjoyed
making a classroom because your classroom can say a lot about your style of
teaching and your personality. The way you design your classroom might
motivate or inspire the students.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A weakness I saw was that some of the steps
were hard for me to do. I’m not very good with technology so I had a hard
time keeping up with everyone. For example, I was trying to put the desk
together, I kept doing it wrong so it slowed me down.
❏ Activity: An activity I would make for my elementary school students (4th
and 5th graders) would be to ask them to design their dream room. They
would then share with the class why they chose to design their room that
way.
3.
❏ What I learned: I enjoyed doing this activity. Everyone uses flyers when
they have an event: in school, work, movies, etc. Learning how to make
flyers is something that teachers might need to know how to make. The
certificate is also teachers use in the class, when acknowledging students
achievements.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A strength I saw was that students want to be
recognized for their accomplishments. Which might motivate them or other
students to try harder so they can also get a certificate and award.
❏ Activity:An activity I would make would be to ask 5th grade students to
make flyers for an event taking place at the school. I would make a
competition and see which flyer the school likes best and use that flyer to
advertise the event. The winner would get a reward and certificate.

4.
❏ What I learned: I learned about a lot of new resources that I did not know
about. While looking for things I also came across more information. I have
used weebly in another class but I had to learn how to do use it on my own,
so it was nice to get a little help with it.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A strength I saw with this was that it can help
students see how much help and resources are available for them and their
parents. Teachers also have a lot of resources and information on the CCSD
website. Students at CSN have a lot of help and I didn’t know about a lot of
the things on the website. This assignment was very informative.
❏ Activity: I would use weebly for a class full of 4-5th graders. They would
make a website for themselves and post any assignments done online. I
would make them write a paper at the beginning of class and one at the end
so they can see how much their writing changed. I would also make sure to
write down their passwords. If we took any class pictures I would make sure
they posted them on their website.
5.
❏ What I learned: I learned about all the things we need to look for when
buying a computer. I had never paid attention to a lot of the things we had to
look for. I learned to look for sales and discounts. I also learned how to write
a request for a grant, which teachers need to do.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A strength that I saw was that as teachers we will
want to buy things for our classroom so we much know how to buy smart
and spend the least as possible on each item. Learning this can help an
upcoming teacher start to get used to and comfortable with writing requests.
❏ Activity: I would ask 3rd-5th grade students to look around the classroom
and think about things they might want to purchase for the classroom. They
would write a short request and I would look through them and pick 3 and
buy those items. This way the students feel included and comfortable in their
classroom.

6.
❏ What I learned: I had not make a presentation on PowerPoint before so this
taught me a lot. The colors, fonts and animations can help get the students
attention and help them learn.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A weakness I saw was that some teachers may
not want to use PowerPoint, especially in elementary school. It’s hard to use
it for certain subjects, like math.
❏ Activity: I would ask 3rd-5th grade students to choose a topic and research
it. They would have to make a presentation and present to the class.

7.
❏ What I learned: I did not like doing this assignment because I had a hard
time with excel. It was confusing. There are a lot of features. I did learn how
to do simple things but I was still confused.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A weakness that I found is that a lot of school use
google classroom, canvas or infinite campus. Excel isn’t used to keep track
of grades and other things anymore since the other websites already have a
way they can keep track of things.
❏ Activity: An activity I would do with a 1st-5th grader class is make a new
sheet and put all the students names. I would ask some questions like
“what’s your favorite color,” and they would have to fill out all of them.
That way we can get to know each other.

Midterm
❏ What I learned: I found it sad that the main problem schools have with
technology is getting funds to provide it. Overall it was interesting to hear
what the teacher and principal had to say about technology.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A weakness that I found was that it was hard for
some students to interview a administrator because of their busy schedule.
❏ Activity: I would ask students to interview someone at the school:
administrator, janitors, librarian, etc. and ask them what they do and why
their job is important.

8.1
❏ What I learned: I learned about a lot of different technology for the
classroom. There are pros and cons with technology.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A weakness that I found was finding articles.
Even though Alex has some articles, they weren’t about a specific
technology, which make it hard to get good supporting
evidence/information.
❏ Activity: I would make a 3rd-5th grade class write about why or why not
they think IPads and computers are an important part of the classroom and
learning.

8.2
❏ What I learned: I learned about a lot of different technologies for students
with special needs. It makes it easier for them. For example, a student with
a visual impairment can read books online can zoom into the books.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: The problem I also had was looking for articles
that would support my technology.
❏ Activity: I would let students with ADHD use the ipad to do their work. It
may help with their hyperactivity and attention span.

9.
❏ What I learned: I had never used Prezi before. I like using PowerPoint more
because it has more features. I do like the way the slides are in Prezi but it
can get confusing.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: A weakness is that since you have to pay for
more feature, there aren’t many things available in the free version. Which
makes it boring to use and in PowerPoint you can add more things.
❏ Activity: I would put 3rd-5th graders in groups and ask them to make a
presentation. They would be in groups so they can help each other out if they
get confused. They would have to present to the class.

10.
❏ What I learned: I learned about different softwares. There are so many good
ones out there, some free and some you need to pay for. I liked BrainPop
because it’s for all different grade levels. It had fun videos and activities.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: There were a couple softwares that needed to be
purchased in order to use them. It made it hard to know whether or not you
would like the software.
❏ Activity: I would use BrainPop in my class for some subjects. I would also
do the worksheets with the students and let them play the games ones we
were done with the work. It can be incorporated in the everyday classroom.

11.
DID NOT HAVE TO DO.

Final:
❏ What I learned: I learned that creating a lesson can be hard and frustrating. I
had a plan and started on the lesson but didn’t like it anymore so I started all
over again.
❏ Strengths and weaknesses: It was great practice because we will be creating
lessons plans for every class and every subject. Practice will make it easier.
❏ Activity: I would have my students teach the class something they have to
do. They can teach them to play soccer, paint or anything. It will be fun to
let the students show the class what they love to do.
