Group Tasks:

1. Formulate your problem and subproblems that you wish to study (1 main
problem, and at least 3 subproblems).
Main Problem: What will be the perception of the parents in the continuing
education amidst this pandemic?
(State your problem in a declarative form, be specific so that the scope of your
study will be determined) ex. Parent’s perception of the continuing tertiary
education at Notre Dame of Tacurong College amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Subproblems:
1. Will face to face classes be safe for the children? What other modalities will
you?(who is you?) offer?

 What teaching modalities are being offered by the school?

 2. Will the postponement of the school year affect the studies of the children?
3. Will education be at its best quality given these modalities, amidst the
rampage of this pandemic?

Background of the study

Covid-19 is an infectious decease caused by a newly discovered
coronavirus. Most people infected with the Covid-19 will experience mild to
moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. The
world health organization (WHO) and global professionals together to accelerate
the research and development process, and develop norms and standards to
contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and help care for those affected
individuals. Specially education that face to face school classes is not advised to
apply in all part of the Philippines for the reason of safety in every student
Education is a crucial thing in everyone’s life, that’s a given. Better
opportunities and better chances are given the more educated an individual is.
But that same education is threatened by this on-going pandemic. Panic is slowly
creeping to each one’s heart. Others even started to question the decisions of
the Government. “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs
to those who prepare for it today.” – Malcolm X
The fact that we have to maintain a meter of distance from one another,
and that any form of social gathering, gives some, if not all, parents of the said
students the feeling of unease. Parents will do anything to ensure their children’s
safety. And securing one’s education for their success in the future is always a
priority of every parent.

Thus, this motivated the researchers to do research about the thoughts of

the concerned parents regarding the quality of education during this pandemic.

 Parent always prioritize the safeties of their children, they must do extra care in
this time of pandemic because health is more important.
 If the class will be postpone the students might avoid the transmission of viruses
but then students could be delayed their gradation or steps in studying.
 The following are the effect of pandemic on education
1. Quality of education. Learners who are healthy, well-nourished and ready
to participate and learn, and supported in learning by their families and
communities.
Environment that is healthy, safe, protective and gender sensitive and
provide adequate resources and facilities.

2. Financial problem. In this amidst of pandemic everyone are experiencing

financial problem because of the threat of pandemic, therefore a lot of
people are become jobless and hard to find income.

3. Modalities of learning (also known as learning style). It is how the classes

take in, process and learn using senses.
Defined as a ways in which students use their senses throughout the
learning process to acquire new skills, there are four main modalities that
educator often consider: kinesthetic (moving), visual (seeing), auditory
(hearing) and tactile (touching).
