Example Harry: Hi! I’m Harry, and I’m in here because I’m going to a family wedding on Saturday and Mum says I’ve got to wear something smart. I can’t go in my old trainers, so I’m trying to find something else I can wear on my feet that I can walk in, and that I actually like – but it’s not easy! Narrator: 1 Sally: My name’s Sally and I often come into this shop on Saturdays. I love it! It’s quite cheap, and you can sit and listen to stuff before you buy it. I download a lot of albums now from the Internet, but my mum still listens to CDs, so I’m in here to buy her a present! Narrator: 2 Jake: Hello, I’m Jake and I usually get my favourite cycling magazine here but they haven’t got any left. I guess I’m a bit late as I usually come in early in the morning. Oh well, at least I can get a newspaper for Mum and Dad. I don’t know why they bother … they never have time to read it! Narrator: 3 Alison: Hi! I’m Alison, and I’ve got to buy something for school. Our teacher said I can join the school running team next week, but first I’ve got to practise at home to get fitter! So I need something warm and comfortable – like people wear in the Olympics! I’m sure they’ll have something in here. Narrator: 4 Mark: Hi! I’m Mark, and I hate shopping but I need some new trousers and some shirts because I’ve got a Saturday job and I have to look smart. I never go shopping with my girlfriend because she spends hours going round all the shops. But today she’s helping me, so that’s good – because I really have no idea! Narrator: 5 Becky: Hello! I’m Becky and I’m waiting to get something for my mum. She isn’t very well at the moment and the doctor has told her to get some special medicine. She’s at home in bed and she asked me to come down here and get it for her. They’re always very busy in here, so I guess there are a lot of ill people around.
