A Court of Frost and Starlight: A Book Review

The moment I saw the size of the book I was immediately able to tell that it must be a novella. So when I
started reading this book I wasn’t disappointed by anything because I kept it in mind that this is only a
novella, and it is a short story as it should be. A Court of Frost and Starlight took place months after A
Court of Wings and Roses and showed Velaris and the people in it under recovery after the battle. I like
that it was able to capture the same feel of the other book despite it being a short book; I hadn’t
realized how I missed the place and the characters in the book until I was reading about them again. I
was smiling for the most of the book when one by one the Circle started showing up. It was like I was
the friend that went away and came home looking for them in every chapter of the book, and when
they show up it’s “Ah, there you are.” moment. But the bliss of meeting these characters again did not
last long. Eventually, I started looking for the storyline, which was kind of short and I didn’t really feel if
there even was a highest point in the story. All I knew was there was the introduction, the conflict was
presented, and then the story started to go downhill to the conclusion. However, it was a good update
for their lives, I think this book just served that way, as a news flash or a life update from Velaris. I give it
a 3 stars!
