Ketones Rule C-311

311.1 - The generic name "ketone" is given to compounds containing an oxygen atom
doubly bound to a single carbon atom with the carbonyl group >C=O joined to two
carbon atoms. Ketones are named by means of the suffix "-one", the prefix "oxo-", the
functional class name "ketone", or, in special cases, the suffix "-quinone".
