 1 Introduction
This is the product release notes file for Mellanox ConnectX®-4 adapter cards. The file
provides descriptions of known issues on specific product revisions and on which revisions
they have been or will be fixed.

2 Known Issues

2.1 Hardware Known Issues

This section describes the history of hardware known issues and affected products (part
numbers and revisions) in the following manner:
• Table 2 lists a history of all hardware known issues that have been found on ConnectX-4
adapter cards since the earliest product revisions. As such, some of the reported issues
may not be relevant for later card revisions.
• Table 3 lists specific part numbers and product revisions that demonstrate one or more of
the known issues listed in Table 2, along with the revision each issue has been or will be
fixed on.

Issue # 1: When the system is in Auxiliary power mode (that is, only See Table 3
3.3V_AUX is active), the ConnectX-4 adapter card loads the
System Management Bus (SMBus). There is no issue using the
SMBus when the system is not in Auxiliary power mode.
Issue # 2: When the system is in Auxiliary power mode (that is, only See Table 3
3.3V_AUX is active), it is not possible to access the FRU
EEPROM on the ConnectX-4 adapter card.
Issue # 3: Wrong pointer lengths to VPD tag “Large resource type VPD- See Table 3
W Tag (0x11)” and “Checksum and Reserved”. If using the
mstvpd tool or any tool that complies with PCI Express
Specification, reading the VPD will fail.
Workaround: Use MFT (mlxburn / mlxvpd tools) or open
source lspci versions 3.1.0 through 3.5.4.
