PART II

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH IS

-GENERATING LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA

-USING STRUCTURED QUESTIONNAIRES IN CONDUCTING SURVEY

-USE NUMERICAL DATA

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH IS

-HOW TO STRUCTURE QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH

-HOW TO DEVELOP TO DEVELOP YOUR QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH QUESTIONS

ACTIVITY 2 BLOG READING

1. WHAT WERE YOUR INSIGHTS WITH REGARD TO THE BLOG READ?

-
2. WHAT WERE THE KEY INFORMATION THAT LED YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT RESEARCH IS?
-THE INFORMATION THAT LED ME UNDERSTOOD WHAT RESEARCH IS THAT RESEARCH IS
BASICALLY TO SEARCH AGAIN.
3. HOW WILL YOU DESCRIBE THE NATURE OF QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH?
-THE NATURE OF RESEARCH IDENTIFIES KEY CHARACTERISTICS AND ATTRIBUTES OF A PRODUCT
OR SERVICE THROUGH INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS OR GROUP DISCUSSIONS.
ACTIVITY 3 METACOGNITIVE THINKING

I UNDERSTOOD THE CONCEPT OF RESEARCH BY

KNOWING WHAT DOES RESEARCH REALLY IS AND WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH FOR
I UNDERSTOOD THE CONCEPT OF QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH BY
KNOWING ON HOW RESEARCH EASILY MAYBE DONE /WILL BE DONE BY JUST READING A BOOK
OR SURVEY

CHARACTERISTICS DESCRIPTION
1.Large Sample Size The first and foremost characteristic of
quantitative research is the large sample size to
conduct research. Quantitative research is done
on a large number of audiences to ensure
reliability. The sample size used in quantitative
research represents the whole target market.

2. Structured Research Methods Structural research methods like questionnaires,

polls, and surveys are used to conduct
quantitative research. In-depth information about
the preferences of the audience can be drawn
using these structured research methods.

3. Highly Reliable Outcome The outcome of quantitative research methods is

quite reliable, as participants of the research face
close-ended questions. Therefore, there are fewer
chances of getting vague information or wrong
information from the participants. Quantitative
research methods are used for industrial research
purposes because of its reliability. Moreover, the
Outcome of quantitative research is easy to
understand and explain.

4. Reusable Outcome The outcome of quantitative research can be used

multiple times. Data collected for one research
purpose can be used for the prior study of
another research problem. Sometimes,
researchers make the use of the outcome of
research for similar research problems, which
reduces the expense and time required for
conducting research. For example, if you have
researched how much money a man will be
willing to pay to buy an electronic gadget.

5. Close-ended questions Close-ended question’s answers are more specific

and right to the question than the open-ended
questions. Responses to open-ended questions
are more detailed and scattered, and it requires
real skills to pick out the answers that you need.

6. Numerical / generalization of Outcome A numerical output is easy to read and

understand, and it is easy to deduce a conclusion
from the numerical outcome than a detailed
result. Quantitative research is conducted on a
large sample of the population.

7. Prior study The outcome of quantitative research can be used

for a previous study of another research. Many
scholars and researchers study and analyze the
outcome of previous research to establish their
research hypothesis or research problem.

ACTIVITY 4

1. What does the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative research imply?

ACTIVITY 5

*A study looking at how caffeine consumption impacts the brain

*A study assessing whether men or women are more likely to be diagnosed with depression

1. Descriptive, correlational, quasi-experimental and experimental.

- These types of design are very similar to true experiments, but with some key differences.

- The differences between the four types primarily relates to the degree the researcher designs for
control of the variables in the experiment. Following is a brief description of each type of quantitative
research design, as well as chart comparing and contrasting the approaches.

2. Yes, Each kind of research has a key word , in that case you can determine easily what type of
research it is by only looking at the examples. You will see there the word “A DESCRIPTION” “THE
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN" “THE EFFECT OF” “A COMPARISON OF THE EFFECT OF”.

ACTIVITY 6

* Categorical Variable

- I want to buy car someday like lamborghini

*Quantitative Variable

- I have a friend whose height is 5’7

*Independent Variable

- I will turn 18 on 2021

*Dependent Variable

-My friend got 76 in exam

*Moderator Variable

-A relationship between socioeconomic status and how often women perform self-exams on their
breasts

*Mediator Variable

-buying pizza for a work party leads to positive morale and to the work being done in half the time

1. Compare the following variables based on the example you have provided

A. Categorical vs. Quantitative

In categorical you can see their brands or groups while in Quantitave variable represents
numbers.

B. Independent vs. dependent

In independent it will literally change while in dependent it will depend on the test or
measurements.

C. Moderator vs. mediator

In moderator it influences the strength or direction of the relationship while in the mediator

mediates the relationship.

ACTIVITY 7

 WHY QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH IS IMPORTANT IN UNLOCKING THE WORLDS KNOWLEDGE?

-IT WILL TEST YOUR BEHAVIORS, BEHAVIOURAL INTENTIONS AND YOUR ATTITUDES

1. It will make a way where we can begin to understand the complexities of various issues; to maintain
our integrity as we disprove lies and uphold important truths.
2. Useful for decision making

3. State Your Claim, A strong justification narrative begins with a brief statement of your claim, which
will be the focus of your piece, Establish Reasons. Once you state your claim, begin providing the
reasoning, Provide Support, Discuss Budgetary Issues. By the time you do through review, any of the of
the aforementioned points will come out and that will help provide a good justification for you

4. Providing motivating career paths for high-potential executives, Retaining valued executives who have
reached career plateaus, Managing career development for dual-career couples, Helping valued
managers understand the potential benefits of relocating or accepting,a different job assignment within
the firm.
