GE-2111 ENGINEERING GRAPHICS

Date : 03.11.2012

Time: 1.30 hrs Max.Marks: 50

1. A) A cone of base diameter 55 mm and height 60 mm stands on its base on the HP. A cylindrical hole of
diameter 24 mm is drilled right through the cone. The axis of the hole is perpendicular to the VP and
the axis of the cone at 20mm above the base of the cone. Draw the development of the lateral surface
of the cone with the hole.
B) A square pyramid of base side 30 mm and height 50 mm rests on the HP with a base edge parallel to
VP. It is cut by a plane perpendicular to VP and inclined 50 0 to HP meeting the axis at 30 mm above HP.
Draw the development of the lateral surfaces.
2.A) A pentagonal pyramid of base side 25 mm and altitude 60 mm rests on HP on its base with an edge of
the base parallel to the VP. It is cut by a vertical plane inclined at 45 0 to the VP at a distance of 8 mm
from the axis. Draw the top view, sectional view and their true shape of the section.
B) A cube of side 35 mm rests on the HP on one of its faces with a vertical faces inclined 45 0 to the VP. It is
cut by a plane perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 30 0 to the HP and meeting the axis at 25 mm
above the HP. Draw the front view, sectional top view and the true shape of the section.
3.A) A vertical cone of the diameter 60 mm, height 80 mm is cut by a cutting plane perpendicular to HP and
inclined to 400 to VP, passing through a point 15 mm away from the axis. Draw sectional elevation and
true shape of the section.
B) Draw the development for the hexagonal prism as shown below.
