Relevant Experience
Packaging Engineering Co-op
Steelcase – Athens, AL June 2020 – December 2020
• Releasing Packaging Engineering Change Notices (PECNs) for updated or obsoleted components found in the Packaging Bill
of Materials in SAP to ensure that packaging information is up to date in all of the affected plants
• Unpacking product lines on the floor and utilizing SAP to check Packaging Bill of Materials to ensure that every parcel has a
pack attached to it in which the packaging components match what the operator is using on the line and that the cube and
quantity per pack are correct and optimized to ensure that trailers are being packed optimally
• Contacting suppliers for updated packaging drawings and specifications as well as quotes for new packaging materials to
ensure that packaging is being documented accurately and that the most cost-effective packaging solutions are being used
• Performing line trials and ISTA 1A and ISTA 3A ship tests to test new packaging materials and new packaging designs to
determine whether current packaging can be downgraded for more efficient use of material, less waste, and cost savings
• Creating and updating Cyclical Standard Work (CSW) for the packaging operations of the 18 product lines of Steelcase
Athens to ensure that operators fully understand how to package products and how to operate their machines
• Creating Operator-Based Maintenance (OBM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) documents for all the packaging
machinery in the Steelcase Athens plant, which is Steelcase’s largest plant in North America

Projects
Reverse Engineering Packaging Project April 2019 – May 2019
• Created a Bolthouse Farms Carrot Juice Bottle in SolidWorks from measured dimensions to showcase design skills
• Determined best shipper and tray packaging solutions for truckloads given specific dimensions for the bottle, shipper, tray,
pallet, and truck bed using Cape Pack
• Developed the appropriate shipper and tray containers using ArtiosCAD and the dimensions given in the Cape Pack solutions
Paper Board Packaging Alliance Student Design Challenge December 2018 – May 2019
• Researched various game console packages to determine which would be best to use for the design challenge
• Created a packaging design using ArtiosCAD for a game console that could be used during gameplay
• Developed a marketing plan to sell respective packaging design to consumers
