Role: Responsible for Spare Parts Material Planning & Procurement, Vendor Management, Inventory Management
and Material control.
MATERIAL PLANNING & PROCUREMENT:
VENDOR MANAGEMENT:
Communicate the company’s expectation to the supplier and release the schedule to them.
Conduct Suppliers Audit/Visit and performance reviews to ensure the supply of quality material
Awarding supplier delivery performance (SPDR) considering the various delivery aspects like meeting schedule,
delivering the parts without discrepancies & Quality.
Resolving supplier document discrepancies and ensuring timely payment to the suppliers.
Initiating the vendors to go for “TATA” unique branding for boosting up the sales volume in market also
implementing TGP (TATA Genuine packing) packing with them.
Negotiating with vendors for their MOQ (Minimum Order qty) and MOQ (Minimum Packing qty). Settlement for
smooth supplies.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT:
Responsible for maintaining Inventory within the norms decided by Top Management
Preparing Monthly inventory reports for all local parts and projecting to top-level management in terms of value
in every month.
Consolidation of parts process will be done at Chennai hub and dispatched to regional warehouse on daily basis.
Responsible for maintaining the availability with 80% of stocks against the fixed norms with the help of TOC
system (Theory of constraints).
Implementation of ‘Supermarket’ concepts across suppliers in order to ensure the availability for obsolete/non-
current parts stocks to service VOR orders.
Coordinating with PG (Product group) team for developing new range of products (Durafit parts) and vendors
based upon the after-market requirements.
Circulating price amendments list (OEE vs OES price) to across all India team and ensure all OES price are in line
with OEE price therefore ensuring prices are same in SAP.
Preparing and circulating the NPI parts (New products Introduction) availability status to all India and review will
be done by top management on twice in a week.
Coordinating and preparing department MIS report & circulation internally to all.
Rolling out of “TOC” concepts beginning with potential vendor by the help of IT team.
Coordinating with Technical cell & vendor in order to make service the obsolete/NLS parts also making
relationship between superseded items.
SYSTEM HEALTH MONITORING:
Ensuring various ordering parameter update in SAP-MM to assure proper ordering into the MRP.
Creating Contract/PO’s for all new part numbers in SAP and ensure the same for total Spare part numbers.
Monitoring /controlling the manual orders placing in SAP and should not be any open schedule pending for
more than 5 days from the date of order registered in the SAP.
Monthly once norm qty will get update in TOC based on RLT (Replenishment lead-time) concept in order to
ensure appropriate requirements are being serviced.
