Introduction
Connect the SPD-SX to your computer as described in the chapter “Connecting Your Computer via USB” of the SPD-SX Owner’s Manual.

Starting SPD-SX Wave Manager


1. Start up SPD-SX Wave Manager.
Windows Click [Start], move the mouse cursor to [All Programs] and then to [SPD-SX Wave Manager], and click [SPD-SX Wave Manager].
Mac OS X In [Applications], double-click [SPD-SX Wave Manager].

2. Select the SPD-SX drive.


The “Select Storage” dialog box will appear.

Using the drop-down list in the “Select Storage” dialog box, select the [SPD-SX] drive, and click [OK].

NOTE
• The drive letter of the SPD-SX may differ depending on your computer operating environment.
• If the [SPD-SX] drive does not appear, please make sure the “USB MODE” of the SPD-SX is set to “WAVE MGR” and reconnect the SPD-SX to your
computer with the USB cable.

MEMO
If you’ve written a data of the SPD-SX to your USB flash drive, you can also select the USB flash drive. Note, however, that wave names cannot be
displayed for data that has been saved by means of [SAVE KIT+SETTINGS]. For more information about saving data, refer to “Saving Data to a
USB Flash Drive (SAVE (USB MEMORY))” in the SPD-SX Owner’s Manual.

Wave list
This lists the waves stored
in the SPD-SX.
Pad area
This shows the names of the waves assigned to
the pads.
Each pad has a main wave and a sub wave.

Kit area
This shows the kit name.

The wave selected in the wave list can also be assigned in the following ways.
• Right-click the desired pad and click [Assign].
• In the [Edit] menu, click [Pad] and then [Assign].

Renaming a Wave

1. Right-click the wave, and 2. Edit the name. 3. Click.

Deleting a Wave
In the wave list, right-click the wave that you want to delete and click [Delete].

MEMO
A wave for which is shown in the wave list cannot be deleted.
Right-click a wave that’s assigned to a pad, and choose [Clear Assign] to clear its assignments.

Organizing the Waves


After you delete a wave, the wave numbers will no longer be consecutive. If desired, you can renumber them to fix this.
For details, refer to “Organizing Waves (RENUMBER)” in chapter “Editing Waves” of the SPD-SX Owner’s Manual.

Categorizing a Wave

Categorizing a Wave
This provides a convenient way to view sounds of the same type together in the wave list.

1. Right-click a wave, and 2. Select a category 3. Click.

1. In the wave list, select the wave that you want to copy.

2. In the [File] menu, click [Wave Export].

3. Select the output-destination folder, and click [OK].

Backing Up SPD-SX Data to a Computer


1. In the [File] menu, click [Save All].

2. Specify the save-destination folder name, and click [Save].

Writing Backup Data from a Computer to the SPD-SX


NOTE
Make a backup before you write data to the SPD-SX. When you write data to the SPD-SX, any data that was in the SPD-SX will be overwritten by the
contents of the backup.

2. Select the folder with the backup data, and click [Open].
