BEFORE THE RESPECTED NEGOTIATION CENTRE

NEGOTIATION BETWEEN

MISS RITTIKA JOSHI

AND

MR. ATULYA AHUJA

STRATEGY PAPER ON BEHALF OF MR. ATULYA AHUJA

REPRESENTED BY MR. ATULYA AHUJA

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE NEGOTIATION

1. To reach a common consensus between the parties by means of this negotiation session.
2. To become an independent professional.
3. To become a partner in Miss Rittika Joshi’s firm.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

STRENGTHS:

1. Well established and reputed IT engineer with 10 year work experience in computer system
2. He has been awarded “Employee of the year” award for the past three year.
3. Can provide client satisfaction from his work.
4. He already has a promotion on his way.
5. He has good relation with companies and can bring profits.
6. He can bring in a huge network of clients.
7. He can possibly increase the firm’s revenue by a good 45% i.e. 22,50,000 .

WEAKNESSES:

1. Being an employee and a partner are two different ball games. Merely being the employee does not
entail that he would make a great partner.

2.  Moreover, Mr. Atulya does not have an experience as a partner before.

3. He has only installation and maintenance service which cannot be rendered without designs.

4. Investment is a vital element of partnership business. In this case, Mr. Ahuja has not made any
investment, making him a weak candidate for a partner.

INTERESTS OF MR. ATULYA AHUJA.

1. Assuming that appointment of Mr. Atulya provides for 72,50,000 (increase in the revenue), the total
revenue. However, total expenses comes to Rs. 30,00,000. So net profit is Rs.42,50,000/-. Without
the expansion, the net profit of Rittika would be Rs.30,00,000 (40% of 50 Lakhs). Thus the net profit
is further increased by  12,50,000 than the previous one. Therefore he should be made a partner in
the business.
2. He wants independence and new opportunities in his work.
CONFLICTING INTERESTS OF THE OTHER PARTY

1. Rittika Joshi may not be willing to make Mr. Ahuja a partner as he is not going to make
any capital investment in the business.
2. Miss Rittika Joshi may not be willing to agree to provide independence to Mr. AHuja in
his work.
