Technopreneur comes from the word technology
and entrepreneurship combined. It is a simple
entrepreneurship with a process of merging
technology prowess and entrepreneurial talent
and skills.

In addition, they are people who innovate and


solves problems to turn them into an opportunity
and builds an organization to pursue it. But they
distinguish themselves through their ability to
accumulate and manage knowledge, to mobilized
resources to achieve a specified business or social
goal with the help of well, technology. And Here are
the names of recognized Filipino Technopreneurs
who made notable contributions to the Philippines.

TECHNOPRENEURS
1. DIOSDADO “DADO”
BANATAO, MONSTRON

 Dado Banatao is a popular name in Filipino success


stories and technopreneurs forum. He was born in
Cagayan Valley Province, a place where landscapes
of farm is visible. Dado studied at Ateneo de
Tuguegarao and Mapua Institute of Technology.
 Dado Mostron was popular for having invented the
chip set and graphics acceleration architecture.
During 1993, was the S3, considered the most
profitable company in the world. In 1996, was
Chips & Technologies which later that year he sold
to Intel. At present, he is in partnership with
Tallwood Venture Capital, a venture firm focused on
semiconductor technology solutions.
2.  JOEY GURANGO

 Joey is the CEO of Gurango Software, the


most successful Microsoft Dynamics partner
in the Philippines. He founded several
software companies including Match Data
Systems (MDS) USA in 1987, MDS
Philippines in 1991, and MDS Australia in
1996. Joey's IT advocacy is to grow the
Philippine software products sector to
become a major contributor to nation-
building.
3. ORLANDO VEA

 Orlando B. Vea was appointed Chief Wireless


Advisor of SMART. He founded the company
in 1991 and was President and CEO until
2000. Until his appointment, he was head of
the PLDT Group's media and content
businesses. Mr Vea graduated from the
University of the Philippines in 1970 with a
degree in A.B. Economics.
4. WINSTON DAMARILLO

 Winston Damarillo is the chief executive


officer and co-founder of Morphlabs. He is a
proven serial entrepreneur with a track record
of building successful technology start-ups.
Winston went to the US to pursue his dream
of working for Microsoft, IBM or Intel.
5. JOEY CONCEPCION

 He was appointed as Presidential Consultant


for Entrepreneurship by President Rodrigo
Roa Duterte. His grandfather Jose
Concepcion Sr., was the founder of
Concepción Industries; and his grandmother
Victoria Lopez- Araneta founded FEATI
University.
6. LEANDRO LEVISTE

 Leandro was only 23-years-old when he


founded Solar Philippines. The company
provides solar power in Leviste's place.
Through family connections, he has spent
$100 million dollars in bank loans. He was
able to build solar "farms" and rooftop panel
systems.
7. RACHEL DE VILLA

 Rachel De Villa was chosen for her work on


agritech startup Cropital, which she founded
and serves as chief technology officer. The
platform gives farmers access to scalable and
sustainable financing through the crowd. It
enables the public to help finance local
Filipino farmers and gain returns at the same
time.
8. RAYMOND RACAZA

 Mr. Raymond Gerard S. Racaza has been the


Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer of
Xurpas Inc. since November 2001. He holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Science, Major in Information Technology
from De La Salle University. He was part of
the original team that built the first Wireless
Application Protocol (WAP) site in the
Philippines.
9. DIANE EUSTAQUIO

 Diane is the Executive Director of IdeaSpace.


She is responsible for managing the
foundation's flagship incubation and
acceleration program. Prior to IdeaSpace,
Diane served as Executive Assistant to First
Pacific Company Ltd. She took her
undergraduate studies in B. A Organizational
Communication from the University of the
Philippines – Manila.
10. LEO LOPE LOFRANCO,
MUBER

 Muber is an online marketplace that connects


potential buyers of hard-to-find items to
possible travelers who can deliver items.
When the site was launched February 2014,
the site functioned more like a social
networking site. In the beginning, Muber was
populated by the founders' own circle of
friends but now, it has built a reliable
database and "trusted travelers" as well.

1. JEFF BEZOS

 Jeff Bezos is the CEO of an online empire


Amazon. He started by selling books online
in the 1990s and led the basis of online stores
globally. Now it has become one of the
largest in the US a Fastest growing industry,
Computer Company and also a leading
company in other fields. Millions of people
globally shop at Amazon daily.
2. ELON MUSK

 Elon Musk is one of the most famous


technopreneur of present times. He was the
one who made a fortune as an entrepreneur in
the technology world. He founded PayPal, the
popular online payment network, and
SpaceX, the first privately funded space
company. Now, he is planning to develop
electric airplanes which would be supersonic
and help to colonize Mars.
3. MARK ZUCKERBERG

 Zuckerberg is a great technical programmer


who started doing technical things from
school days. He created Facebook when he
was at Harvard University along with his
friends. Initially, he created Facebook for
university fellows' internal communication,
which nowadays has become the strongest
and popular social media network worldwide.
Zuckerberg became the world's youngest
billionaire and technopreneur at the age of 23.
4. BILL GATES

 Bill Gates is an intelligent, self-made


individual who runs a business that has
become the focus for everyone, including TV,
press, and media. He created software and
sold it to the first personal computer
company, and he became very successful. He
got the title of the world's richest person from
1995 to 2017. And presently, he is on number
second after Jeff Bezos.
5. KEVIN ROSE

 Kevin Rose is a venture partner of Twitter,


Facebook, and google. He created Digg, the
social site to discuss news and topics related
to the news. Rose is also the co-founder of
Revision3, which is an online internet show.
He told people to seek advice from the best
people worldwide and contact them from
Twitter and LinkedIn.
6. EVAN WILLIAMS

 Evan Williams is an entrepreneur from


America who is the founder of Twitter. He
was born in Nebraska and did crop irrigation
in the summer. His first venture was Pyra labs
which was a huge success. His outstanding
achievement was Blogger, which he later sold
to Google. Today, William became the
inspirational entrepreneur for the startup
people.
7. LARRY PAGE AND SERGEY
BRIN

 Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey


Brin did Ph.D.s in computer science from
Stanford University. They both worked in a
Palo Alto garage on search engine Backrub,
which is later named Google. Google got a
real success in 2004 when it became the most
searched engine utilized 200 million times a
day. Larry Page also entered in a world's top
10 billionaire list by Forbes.
8. SEAN PARKER

 Sean Parker is known as a hacker who hacked


the entire network of 500 companies when he
was 16 years old. He later worked with
Napster, which was the biggest file-sharing
site on the internet. Notably, Parker was the
very first president of Facebook and gave his
advice on how to develop the company into a
real company.
9. MICHAEL SAUL DELL

 Michael Dell is the founder and CEO of Dell


Technologies, one of the world's leading
providers of information technology and
infrastructure solutions. As of February 2017,
he is ranked the 37th richest person in the
world by Forbes, with a net worth of US$20.8
billion. Michael wasn't the only famous
entrepreneur to ride the computer boom of the
late 1980s and early 1990s from rags to
riches.
10. STEVE JOBS

 Steve Jobs was an American inventor and


entrepreneur who was the co-founder, chief
executive, and chairman of Apple computers.
He is regarded as one of the greatest
entrepreneurs of all time and is an inspiration
for many. Under his leadership, the company
started to produce revolutionary technologies,
some of the most famous products are the
iPhone and iPad.
