CYBERBULLYING

TASK A
1. Introduction
Social New Media will be the area of study for this research topic. The reason for
choosing this topic is because, through lectures, the teacher's suggestion inspired
the author to want to study this extremely popular phenomenon and topic. Besides,
when the lecturer mentioned on this topic, the author understood the dangerous
effects of cyber bullying on victims such as affecting psychology, leading to
depression and most importantly threaten to the victim's life. The author wanted to
find out and research the topic because people could die from illness, physical
crime but today the victims of this theme can be forced to commit suicide only by
the words and comments on social networks such as facebook, instagram and
twitter,… This reason has inspired the author to choose this topic to research the
causes, find solutions to help the victims and also help readers get more
cyberbullying’s knowledge to understand and give attention victims. The research
topic in this report is about cyber bullying which can be seen through people
around, friends, or family members by any individual in today's society.
2. Discussion
In a developing life with modern technologies and machines, the concept of cyber
bullying has become familiar to many people. However, in many countries, cyber
bullying is considered to be harmless, so this research topic will help people have a
lot of knowledge about the ability and risk of harm to humans of cyber bullying.
The author had a friend who was the victim of this issue when she posted personal
pictures on Instagram, then she was constantly criticized by a group of strangers
and they messaged to her day by day. She used to be affected by these "jokes", the
commenters later said that these were just to tease the girl and they didn't even
know the consequences of cyber bullying.In South Korea, 41% of South Koreans
have been and are victims of online bullying and 66% have seen incidents of
bullying. According to statistics, one in five South Koreans have been attacked by
various forms of online bullying, such as threats of assault, surveillance, and sexual
harassment. The rest involved being teased by name or intentional harassment.
Social bullying is especially common among young people. 67% of young people
aged 18 - 29 are victims, 33% of victims over 30 years of age are harassed online.
It seems that cyber bullying is not only stopped by the level of mental influence but
even affects the victim's body, the most obvious evidence when K-pop Stars who
are said to have a worthwhile life dreamed but unlucky as the past few years, there
are some "idols" become depressed and then commit suicide by negative
comments, rumors of attack on personal pride or more clearly because of cyber
bullying. What is even more dangerous that being a victim of cyber bullying is
extremely easy, especially as the technology age develops so everyone can use
social media to criticize others.
