During my secondary education, specifically during my Grade 10 year as a

student our teacher taught us who is Dr. Jose P. Rizal, he gave us some information

like the contributions, early life, works and talents of our hero, also how he died and

where he died and then gave us a task to read the book Noli Me Tángere, at first we

taught it was so long to read and we have other subjects that also need our time, but

our teacher explained to us that if we manage our time responsibly we can finish the

book, and he gave that task in the first period of class so we have a long time to read, in

addition to the task our teacher grouped us in 2 groups to act the said book during the

finals so we can prepare and practice in a long period of time , I remember that I was

assigned to play the role of Maria Clara, daughter Capitan Tiago and the fiancée of

Crisostomo Ibarra, her characteristics are sweet and kindhearted young woman. Raised

with affection, Maria Clara was well-loved by everyone around her, we are almost the

same so it is not hard to act like her, so with my groupmates we practice and did some

props to give more life to our act and wear some costumes, then we portray the play

good enough to please our teacher, reminiscing those memories make me feel sad

because I miss my friends and teachers during High school and at the same time make

me proud of myself because I was given an opportunity to act as Maria Clara a

character of one of the best book in the history. To sum it up, really enjoyed the subject

history specially the topic about Dr. Jose P. Rizal, and it gives me goosebumps every

time I hear or read the works of our national hero. Also, it makes me proud as a Filipino

Citizen because they really did a great job in claiming our independency and also, I feel

like that as giving gratitude to them I must study and, in the future, I can contribute to

the welfare society, and make them proud too.

 I must say that my alma mater complied to the Rizal law and taught us the

student about the history and of course Dr. Jose P. Rizal. This subject made the

students realized to be more responsible and proud at same time as a Filipino citizen,

because our national heroes gave their lives in achieving our independency that we are

experiencing right now, it is really important to know what really happened in our

history , because it will help us to mold ourselves to become a great version of

ourselves and with the help of this course it gives us more strength and motivation to be

strong, risk taker, and independent. In addition, if we are not dumb about this, we can

share this to the younger generation and the efforts of our heroes will still be alive

through us. Overall, if we really get the point of studying this course, we will really enjoy

this and at the same time get a good grade.
