This is Ezekiel 1:1. In translation it reads, “And it was in the thirtieth year in the fourth, on the fifth
day of the month, as I was in the midst of the exile by the river Chebar-the heavens opened up, and I
saw visions of God.”

This verse, written as it is above, contains 72 (Hebrew) letters. Ancient tradition teaches us that this
verse contains a code which can be used to access “visions of God.” This code is one of the now-no-
longer secret techniques used to solicit psychic activity in dreams, or to try to jumpstart a visionary
experience. This is how “visions of God are accessed.

Some of the secrets of the Prophetic Kabbalah have a psychological base and setting. Many of these
have come to the light of public attention from sources outside of Torah, specifically from insights
that can be gained through analytical psychology. We will discuss more of this later.

For now, let us focus on the technique itself. Once it has been properly outlined, we can address its
explanation. These are the 17 initial letters of the words in Ezekiel 1:1. Their vowels are not that of
the verse itself, but of the “base form.” This is the standard Abulafian technique.

The letters are divided up into 6 parts corresponding to the 6 sefirot of Zeir Anpin (ZA), which are
Hesed, Gevurah, Tiferet (HaGaT), Netzah, Hod, and Yesod (NaHiY). These six sefirot manifest the
energy of YHWH as it channels down to Earth. This is the source of prophecy.

The Gematria (numerical value) of the 17 Reshei Tevot (initial letters of the words in the verse) add
up to 597. This is the numerical value of a code/formula which consists of the Hebrew words,
Nevuah (prophecy), YHWH (Name of God), and Magid (spirit guide).

We thus take the Hebrew word for prophecy, Nevuah (gematria 64), and unite it the Name YHWH,
gematria 26, six times. The numerical value of the six combinations is 540. What we seek to receive is
the revelation of a spirit guide, who in Hebrew, we call a Magid (numerical value of 57).

GEVURAH HESED

NETZAH TIFERET

YESOD HOD

As we chant the letters, we contemplate that they correspond to the flow of prophetic energy. This is
represented by the Name YHWH being knitted within the letters of Nevuah, thus activating their
latent power. This is visualized as happening six-fold corresponding to HaGaT NaHiY. All this then
channels down into the Magid. Together we have the 540 flowing into the 57 thus uniting the 597
that these 17 letters represent.

----------------------------------------------------------

The human mind needs to break out of its prison which binds it to externally based attention, and
focus. The human mind needs to break from rationally based constructions, and to allow itself to
embrace free-form fluidities. Practically speaking, this requires of one to stop thinking rationally, and
to allow one’s imagination to activate, and eventually within certain limits, dominate one’s thinking
process.

Imaginative thought is usually expressed through inner imagery, impressions, and feelings. Most have
experienced this type of thought while dreaming. Dream language, therefore, is what enables the
individual to see beyond the limitation of the physical world, which is controlled and limited by
sensorial input. Dream language opens the mind to psychic communication. This is how one is able
to see beyond the limits of space and time.

Mastering this language enables one to master psychic activity. In Biblical times, such a master was
called a Navi, a Prophet. The ancient techniques used by the Biblical prophets were not a matter of
religion, but rather a matter of human psychology. Therefore, anyone who would used these methods
to train one’s mind and consciousness can indeed come to experience the greater reality in which we
live.

Learning the prophetic method, like all other exercises and training, requires disciplined repetition, and
patience. Result are forthcoming in their own way, and in their own time, in accordance with the
uniqueness of each individual.
