3. GENERAL DESCRIPTION & PARTICULARS

3.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The vessel, DIXIE PATRIOT, is a lift boat, which mainly consists of a hull, machinery spaces,
Quarters, helicopter, three legs with jack tower, and heavy-duty leg-mounted crane on both
the port and starboard legs. She is a DNV Classed Self-Elevating Unit registered in the
Republic of the Marshall Islands.

3.1.1 Hull
The transversely framed steel hull consists of a bottom plate, side shell, head log bulkhead
and steam bulkhead, all covered by a main deck top plate. The main hull is 176.5’ x 113.3’ x
3’, all welded steel.

3.1.1.1 EXEMPTION
The unit has been exempted from the double bottom requirements described in SOLAS
Chapter ll-1 regulation 12-1.1 based on the compliance of the unit with the intact and
damage stability requirements of the ABS MODU Rules 2001 which are identical to the 1989
IMO MODU Code for self-elevating units except for the severe storm conditions.

3.1.2 Quarters and Pilothouse


The quarter, which are located between the Frames 24 and 31, consists of four (4) levels,
and can accommodate fifty (50) people. Overall dimensions are (50ft) transverse by (32ft)
longitudinal.

Room, and P/S access rooms with stairs leading to the engine rooms. The
deck storage access rooms have exterior access doors.
01 level contains five (5) 4-man rooms, one (1) large head, and a lounge.
02 level contains five (5) 4-man rooms, one(1) large head, and a lounge.
03 level contains one(1) 2-man VIP room with head, one (1) 1-man Captain
room with head, one (1) office, one (1) recreation room, one (1)4-man room
with head, one (1) 3-man room with head, and a utility room.
