The company which history in this disaster we decided to talk about is Toyota Motor

Corporation, which was founded in 1937 by Akio Toyoda.


 Main business activity of the company is motor vehicle production and sales.
 Number of employees under the management of the company is 370.870. Currently
Toyota operates its business worldwide with 53 overseas manufacturing companies
in 28 countries and regions. The company’s vehicles are sold in more than 170
countries and regions.
 In 2015, Toyota ranked 11th on Forbes’s list of the world’s largest companies. This
ranking was based on a composite score of the revenues, profits, assets, and market
value of various companies.
Toyota's management philosophy has evolved from the company's origins. Toyota's
managerial values and business methods are known collectively as the Toyota Way. Many
businesses worldwide have adopted a similar approach to manufacturing.

In April 2001, Toyota adopted the "Toyota Way 2001", an expression of values and conduct
guidelines that all Toyota employees should embrace. Under the two headings of Respect
for People and Continuous Improvement, Toyota summarizes its values and conduct
guidelines with these five principles:

1. Challenge
2. Kaizen (improvement)
3. Genchi genbutsu (go and see)
4. Respect
5. Teamwork

According to external observers, the Toyota Way has four components:

1. Long-term thinking as a basis for management decisions


2. A process for problem-solving
3. Adding value to the organization by developing its people
4. Recognizing that continuously solving root problems drives organizational learning
