Introduction

Environmental pollution is a problem not only in our country but also in most countries of the
world, it has become a globalization problem. The environmental protection project by using
our bamboo straws below not only contributes to solving this problem but also contributes to
the awareness and protection of the health of the consumers.

5.1 Create an actual project plan applying the theories (not limited to WBS, Gantt chart,
SoW…)
Project introduction: The name of the project is “the environmental protection project by using
bamboo straws”. This is a project to create a type bamboo straws possible replace toxic plastic
straws, which are difficult to recycle to protect consumers' health and the environment.
Project team: The project was conducted by a group of five-member students:

Project scope: where the project is being implemented in HaNoi, neighboring provinces, around
the country and can be developed all over the world.
Project background: There are six reasons for this project to succeed. the first, the market of
beverages in our country is developing especially drinks for young people like milk tea, coffee,
need use large amounts of straws. The second, plastic straws can be toxic to the health of the
user and they are difficult to decompose as well as recycle, which is the cause of environmental
pollution. The third, Eco-friendly bamboo straws, safe for consumers' health, easy to use and
recycle to protect the environment. Next, this project is easy to achieve because this is a project
to create good products that are easy to get the support and acceptance of people. Then,
materials raw for the project are readily available, especially in Southeast Asian countries,
bamboo is very popular and abundant variety. The last, this project is likely to generate higher
economic value for bamboo compare to other products made from bamboo.
The plan of the project: The project will be implemented from 5 November, 2018 and ends on
14December, 2018. Firstly, team members should assign tasks according to each person's
position, then divide and implement the project. The first step is to research and analyze the
market to get the necessary information and data about customers as well as the need to use
the customer's straws. Then the person assigned the task will synthesize the data and report
back to the project manager. Because the project does not focus on the production but focuses
on the sale of the product, therefore the second step is to find suppliers, agree on prices and
buy the product. The next steps are product packaging design, marketing and sales,
management of possible happen risks and take solutions for prevention and finally monitoring
and controlling of progress implement the project.
The objective of the project is to complete project well in time as planned. Contributing to
solving some environmental pollution problems of the authorities. Earn profit as expected from
product sales.
Project outcomes: The project was successful with the revenue and profit earned as planned.
The schedule of the project is on schedule and always on the right track. After being marketed,
the products are well received and satisfied by customers.
5.2. Give out the project background to improve the matching between project outcomes and
Globalization theme.
We understand globalization is the process of economic, cultural and political integration in all
countries around the world. Material and economic achievements will be widely shared,
eroding the development gap of nations. Globalization requires products both physically and
mentally towards long-term, friendly living environments.
With the bamboo straws project of team the marketing and sale of bamboo straws is gradually
ending and achieving certain success. First, bamboo straws has a positive impact on consumers.
On the issue of globalization, human protection of the environment is very important. The use
of straws instead of plastic straws will be more environmentally friendly. The bamboo straws
will change consumers' perception of the environment and continue to be applied globally
because of the benefits it brings better over plastic straws.
Globalization has had a great impact on the ‘‘bamboo straws’’ project". The outcomes of this
project is the products of the project are well-received, trust to use and satisfied customers,
from there raising the awareness of people about the use of bamboo straws instead of use
plastic straws toxic, unsafe, contribute of the protection of the environment and the health of
consumers. The 'bamboo straws' project aims to produce globally in order to bring about
economic benefits as well as the environmental protection of people everywhere. Globalization
has brought widespread popularity to the bamboo sucking project, which has made the project
more successful.
P6 : Communicate appropriate recommendation as a result of project implementation valid
and meaningful conclusion
6.1. Report on your project implementation through phases
There are four phases in the project “ Bamboo Straws”
Phase 1 :The group has divided members with different responsibilities .
Nguyen Cao Tam - Project Director.
Nguyen Dang Toan - Project Manager.
Nguyen Trung Kien - Risk Manager.
Nguyen Thu Huong - Accountant.
Nguyen Minh Quan - Staff.
In this stage, our team agrred to be the project “Environmental protection project by using
bamboo straws". The purpose of this project is to replace the plastic straws with bamboo
straws. Since bamboo straw products will help protect the environment and raise awareness,
the project is carried out with bamboo suppliers to create contract manufacturing products.
Also, in this phase , our team make a complex plan to get goal of this project. At first we make a
first meeting to specify the function of each person and divide the task for each person by
function, also we improve the spirit of this team and set a goal for whole plan. Besides, the
project start time is 5 nov 2018 to 14 dec 2018. And at the first meeting, we creat the brand
and we agreed with each other that this project is help to the envrinoment to be protected and
to raise people`s awareness for cleaner environment, and help the bamboo products of VN can
be globalization. Second, we set a goal that the profit from this project is about 6 million VND.
We desire to complete the project and continue to grow.
Phase 2 : Deploying the project.
In this phase, after set a plan and goal, we need more capital and help for make this project
greater. We call for capital and help from investors and third parties (investors, etc). At this
phase , we plan to show the product at the event like a fairs, restaurants, etc to be able to
charm investors. And we have helped from TOAN TIEN Group, ZEIT media, etc.. With the help of
the investors, like TOAN TIEN group use our product in their apartment, their restaurant,... and
that help us show the product with more custumer, abroad custumer ,and ZEIT media use our
product in their event at Luxy bar, Six Pub , The toillet bar. With their help , we can make a
great marketing and introduce products to friends in the country and abroad. Besides the
investors`s help , we still carry out marketing at online ( FB, Instagram, The social media, .... )
and at offline ( event, restaurant, ... ) . After show the trial products by Toan Tien group, Zeit
media and us , we have a great comment and has strengthened the confidence of investors.
Phase 3 : Project control and development.
During this phase, we plan to tight control and development the project. At first, to tight
control the project, we check the progress of the project through daily reports at each store for
checking the quantity sold and inventory. According to daily metrics, we will see the amount
sold by spending or not. And, we will report to investors so they can be assured. In addition,
during this period, we collect customer feedback to improve the product.
Phase 4 : Complete the project.
Finally, the closing stages of the project with the success of the project as expected by all
members of the team. We have also contributed to the development of bamboo in Vietnam.
We have sold over one hundred bamboo straws boxes and earned a profit of 6 million VND as
planned and we paid salary our employees and rewarded them for a successful project.
Besides, we did not forget to share in the initial capital of the investor. Before the end of the
project, we were able to achieve an unexpected success. We received an invitation to join the
Toan Tien group, Zeit Media in their next project, and they were also willing to help us in future
projects. In addition, we also receive lessons to help us experience and develop in future
projects. Not only that, after this project, we have patrons willing to help in future projects.

6.3. Critical part of the report: Give your recommendation, lesson learn from project
implementation.

For many people starting their own business is almost a rite of passage: a wonderful
experience, but incredibly daunting. Nevertheless, there is always much can be learned from
starting an own business, whether or not it succeeds or fails, which can be prepared for the
future and also experiences outside of entrepreneurship.
From the weekly reports and meetings of each member of the team, the project became
successful, following the progress and initial process of the project. To achieve success in the
project, the most important factor is to determine how well the project scope can be
understood and how long it will take to reach the goal. Whenever the scope of a project
changes, it leads to changes in budget, time and human resources. In our project about bamboo
straws protecting the environment, we focus on developing projects in the center of Hanoi. This
is also an advantage for us as the project is getting the support of people and organizations as
well as environmental protection companies. The product is focused on coffee shops, shops
around the center of Hanoi as well as propaganda products have the benefit of protecting the
environment.
Time factor is the second factor that plays an important role in project success. We build the
process of the project by listing in order all the tasks that need to be completed - some things
must be done in sequence, others can be done overlapping or in parallel. together. Allocate
necessary resources, identify tasks to be completed before and final assignments. We also use
project management software that can help simplify work items. We created the Gantt Chart
and WBS also made it possible to identify specific milestones and important steps in the project
to be completed soon.
The last element of success in the project is budget and usage, and the cost of the project is
reasonable. Each step to complete the project comes at a cost, even if it is the smallest detail in
the project. To prepare the budget for the project, we have estimated the cost and the total
amount. And we also have a backup budget in the project, which is very important when setting
up a project, which is the amount of money that goes into the risk of completing the project. In
this project we have investigated the amount of products on the website, ask the suppliers as
well as hiring sales personnel, marketing for the project, logo design ....
Although the project succeeds in selling the product and communicating its environmental
awareness to the public, we also face certain risks such as the risk of the system or product,
working environment for team, risk in business project. We have risk managers who specialize
in project risk analysis and remediation to accomplish project progress. This is important in
building a successful project because the need to correct errors in the project immediately will
not cause the project a major flaw as the project is developing and improving. ..
P7: Reflect on the value of undertaking the project to meet stated objectives and own
learning and performance
7.1 Each members need to point out their exact strengths and weaknesses in their learning
reflection.
Nguyen Cao Tam ( project director).
In this project, my role is the project manager. Through this project, I realized that my strength
in implementing this project was to ensure my knowledge, leadership skills and, most
importantly, lead the project management team to fulfill my goals. project and ensure the
requirements of investors. Not only that, I realized my greatest strengths were the use of
relationships, and the ability to communicate to call for capital as well as control the assigned
duties. However, I realize I have significant shortcomings to help make the project more
successful. While implementing the project, I have had the unusual behavior of a project
manager. And I have encountered a problem in the cost management and the scope of the
failure to achieve the target of 50 million VND. After this project, I realized that I needed to
improve my skills such as scope, time, cost, quality and integration with integrated
management, human resources, communication and management related parties.
Nguyen Trung Kien (Risk manager)
At the beginning of the project, they had trouble communicating with each other because the
members had not done the project together before. During the implementation phase, I
personally face the risk of project funding, how to submit the reports on time to the project
manager. The project faced many difficulties when myself and my team members sometimes
disagreed, yet found no consistency. After the project has been completed, I have gained a lot
of experience in teamwork, how to manage the risks in the project, the most important factor is
respecting the team members. And in the future, when I am involved in a project, what I need
to improve is listening.
Nguyen Dang Toan (project manager)
In this project, my role is project management. My strength in implementing the project is to
build trust and motivate staff to complete the project as planned. Demonstrating leadership,
always acting on the decisions that i make, decisions will help build the project better. And
finally, understand and adjust the workflow to make the project smooth and complete. My
weakness in this project is still not listening to the comments from the staff or making decisions
from myself or the director of the instruction. Not having good creative thinking for the
project, further development of the project becomes better. In order to improve the above, the
manager will have to listen to the comments of the staff and from then on will develop more
creatively for the project to be more complete and thorough than the original plan.
Nguyen Thu Huong (Accountant)
Before joining the project, I was a shy person, slow and less flexible with numbers. When
started to participate in the project, I was assigned the task of accounting, the works to do is to
synthesize the information sources and report accurately in time to the project manager.

Nguyen Minh Quan (Employee)
Before the project started, everyone in the project team encountered difficulties because they
had not worked together yet, whether they knew each other or not. While the project is being
implemented, as an employee, I face difficulty in verbal or written communication skills, which
conflict with project management. When attending meetings or negotiations, sometimes I do
not understand the meaning of people. This will delay the submission of the report to the
project manager. But I am always willing to learn new skills and knowledge, try to accept
change, be able to work and communicate effectively with different people, willing to work in
different environments. Sometimes I also lack patience. After the project was completed I
learned to work in groups more effectively, people need to respect one another, always
listening and expressing their own opinions in order to make the right decision making the best
project.
7.2 Complete your group’s critical performance review.
Up to now, the bamboo straw project has reached the stage of completion. This can be said to
be a successful project for the whole group, since this is the first time everyone has worked on
the project together. With the project of changing plastic straws to bamboo straw we want to
convey to the people the protection of the environment, so our team is determined to achieve
certain success when carrying out this project.
In the first phase of the project, all members decided that the goal of the project was not only
to bring in profits but also to change consumers' awareness of environmentally friendly straws.
We identify targets for project implementation, budgeting, calling for investors, communication
to environmental protection with bamboo straws. Despite the difficulties in calling for
investment, We commit to investors to complete the project, successfully communicating to
people the environmental protection, image advertising of the investors to the people.
At this project implementation stage, the members select the project manager who will divide
the task for everyone in the group. Each member of the group tries to accomplish the task
assigned. Initially, we plan for the project and after each week there are detailed reports on the
project. We contacted the supplier to negotiate the price of the product to suit the budget and
began to print the logo, packaging design products. We then analyze the market of customers
in the center of Hanoi, run ads for products through social media as well as create events to
invite customers, communication about the protection of the environment, for customers to try
as well as have special promotions for the first time to buy products at our store.
However, we face risks such as launching media to people, encountering stronger competitors,
etc. Internally, we are in controversy and delays in submitting reports that also occur frequently
during project implementation, but in the end the team has completed the KPI. The project
manager encouraged the spirit of everyone in the group as well as created trust for the project
that made everyone motivated to work and complete the project as expected. We offer reward
and punishment to our team members, which will create motivation, mental wiring for staff
when doing the project.
By the end of the project is completed, the group has recovered the capital has the interest to
be able to continue the project and we had already made a substantial amount of money, more
important than we had communicated by the environment to people in central Hanoi. There
are a lot of supporters as well as environmental protection companies that encourage our
work. The group met and discussed the lessons learned during the bamboo sucking project,
which is to say that the team can work well, each member should respect each other, support
each other. in the course of project implementation. This project was a great success, and our
team worked well to complete the project as originally planned. The members of the project
contribute to the development role that makes the project successful.
Conclusion :
The project has been successfully completed and achieved the objectives set up by the
members of project team such as making a profit, contributing to protecting the environment
and the health of the users, raising the awareness of people in environmental protection. In
addition, after the project ended, each individual member learned highly valuable lessons
learned experiences such as teamwork skills, gathering and aggregating information, acumen in
calculating and how to solve problems, how to management a successful project, how to
motivate people. In general, the project brings a lot of new and useful things to all the
members of the group
