At minimum to become a CRNA a nurse to have a master’s degree from an

accredited Nurse anesthetist program. However, the American Association of
Nurse Anesthetist has started the process of phasing out master’s programs and
replacing them with doctoral programs. By 2022 there will no longer be
master’s programs and a nurse will need to have a doctoral degree going
forward.
