COMPUTER EVOLUTION

Computers is an electronic device that can store retrieve and process data. It became more
relevant now a days. In the past years, people were nervous to use computers because it is new to
them. Computers can be in form of desktop and laptops in which are essential for every working
individuals, students, and even people who spends it for leisure, basically it became part of our everyday
routine. With the help of the advance technology, there were numerous of changes happened from the
primitive forms of computers up until the first generation until today.

Primitive forms of computers were used by primitive people. They used sticks, stones, and
bones as counting tools but when the technology improved, they introduced the first computer named
Abacus, it can perform some arithmetic calculations. In the year, 1942, the first generation of computers
were made of vacuum tubes as the basic components of CPU and memory. Some popular first
generations computers are Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer (EDVAC) and Electronic
Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC). In addition, only in year 1959-1965 wherein they
developed transistor computers which can consume less power and it was made faster than the first
generation. It took few years until the third generation which still used transistors but computers in this
generation became more reliable although they are much smaller in size. Moreover, on the fourth
generation they made a chip named microprocessor in which it is only chip that needed to make the
computer function. Only in the year 1980 up to present, this fifth generation used parallel processing
hardware and Artificial Intelligence software, that results as our laptop and desktop that were both
known today.

Throughout the years, it made us realize how huge the impact of technology in our modern
society. Almost everything had changed including the evolution of the computers with the help of the
advance technology. It became easy for us to access everything in our computers and made our life
more comfortable. Now, our only responsibility is to do well in the world of modern technology.
