Introduction
Hello, we are Juan de Dios García and Climent Martín and this is our project about the
computer because it is a revolutionary invention that has changed the way we live, work and
connect.

Origins and Past

The concept of the computer traces back to Charles Babbage's "Analytical Engine" in the
early 19th century, a visionary idea that remained unrealized during his lifetime. The first
programmable electronic computer, ENIAC, was completed in 1945 by J. Presper Eckert and
John Mauchly at the University of Pennsylvania, primarily serving ballistic calculations during
World War II.

In the mid-1970s, computers entered mainstream usage, facilitating educators' access to the
internet and electronic resources for instruction. The advent of personal computers in the
1970s and 1980s, exemplified by the Apple II and IBM PC, marked a significant shift. The
1981 Osborne 1, although bulky, was the first commercially successful portable computer,
laying the groundwork for future laptops.

The 1990s witnessed the rise of the World Wide Web, while the 2000s brought about faster
processors, increased storage, and improved graphics.. By 2010, computers had become
powerful, interconnected devices integral to daily life, setting the stage for continued
technological advancements.

Present (2010-2024) Evolution

At present there is a great evolution of computers both in dimensions and components.
But the most drastic change that computers have had has been in their use, today anyone
has a computer at home, whether for work or entertainment.

The current models:

At present computers evolved into two types.
Desktop computers have the essence of the early computers of always being connected to a
power supply.
And laptops that do not need a constant power source as they have an internal source, the
battery.

Computers have developed throughout the 2000s to the point where they are necessary in
education, due to the digitization of books and other tools. Nowadays most schools provide a
personal computer to ensure that students have access to the Internet.
It has become popular to give laptops to students instead of having classrooms with desktop
computers because the wear and tear of laptops is less when having one per student. There
is a great variety of brands used by educational centers but with a tendency of 11 to 15
inches and little weight to facilitate the transport to the students. Although they are portable
like the current ones, they usually have different restrictions to ensure the good use of the
laptop as a study tool.

Nowadays, leisure or gaming computers have become popular among young people. These
computers are characterized by a high-end graphic card and powerful processors.
Nowadays there are great advances in all the components of the computer. Desktops,
laptops and servers continue to advance and the Internet has become the backbone of the
different operating systems. At present, mobile devices such as smartphones and iPhones
continue to evolve.

Future
Over the coming years, improvements in personal computer technology are anticipated to
concentrate on better user experience, boosting connectivity, and improving performance.

The wide use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the creation of even faster and
more effective processors, and the incorporation of virtual and augmented reality
technologies into personal computing are all predictions for the future of personal computers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, computers have come a long way, always seeking new ideas and getting
better. From the past to now, and looking ahead, they're on a cool journey of making things
awesome. We can expect even more exciting tech stuff in the future, making computers a
super important part of our connected world.
