Analysis
Safiya Aftab adds while analyzing the “The other Pakistan” (Essays Collection) that the authors
discussed about different things and issues faced by Sindhi people I-e Forced conversion.
Moreover, language, literature, cultural life and quotidian are also discussed. The topics like
apolitical, nationalist politics of Pakistan and Islamabad Farmer’s market makes the compilation
more interesting for the readers. The critic also discusses about the structure of the book that first
three essays are based on Linguistics and literature, while the next three are about minorities and
religions and the last four are mixed with the flavor of anthropology and politics.
Analysis
Sher Alam Shinwari analyzed the book “Pashto Filmoona: Tareekh, Tahqeeq, Tanqeed” written
by “Haji Muhammad Aslam Khan”. He discusses about the rise and downfall of Pashto Cinema
and the reason behind the downfall written by the author in book. The critic discusses about the
first Pashto film, its production, cast, release and the reason behinds its failure. Moreover, he also
discussed that the author added details of more than 700 Pashto movies based on Pashto culture
and history. He also discussed that the author added details about the famous actors, producers
and singers of Pashto industry. The reason behind the downfall of Pashto cinema discussed by
the author is vulgar comedy and non-serious actions.
Analysis
While analyzing “The Phoenix of Pakistani Media” the critic adds Nehru’s book reference where
he discussed about the rise and fall of the civilization and how culture, traditions and movies
plays important role in the rise of civilizations. Then he also discusses about the Golden age of
Pakistani Cinema. He also adds the names of Famous and good producers, actors and musician
who contributed in Pakistani Cinema. Actors like Sultan Rahi and Waheed Muraad are the all
time famous actors of Pakistani cinema.
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett (Analysis)
Analyzing the novel “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennet, David Canfields adds that the novel
focuses on the question that who we are and who went to be. Moreover, the writer is great
storyteller who speaks about the intimate truths of family connections, and to the ever-complex,
ever-enraging story of race in America.
The World Between Us by Sara Naveed (Analysis)
By analyzing the review of “The World Between Us” by Sara Naveed, it is found that Sara
naveed is herself huge fan lobe, romance, Bollywood and filmy romance. The story of the novel
typical stories of movies having typical action, falling in love, villain and getting married. The
beautiful depiction of the characters in the novel create emotional attachment to the protagonists.
Both the protagonists have horrible and dark past, who fall in love with each other. The narration
of the novel is so interesting that the author binds the readers till the last.
