PASSIVE VOICE WITH “BY” (Simple Past)

The passive changes the focus of the statement, for the simple past, use
the past of “be + P.P of the main verb.

ACTIVE VOICE

1. Bartholdi designed “The Statue of Liberty.


2. The French gave “The Statue of Liberty to The U.S in 1886.
PASSIVE VOICE
1. “The Statue of Liberty was designed by Bartholdi.
