PASSIVE VOICE WITH “BY” (Simple Past)

The passive changes the focus of the statement, for the simple past, use the past
of “be + P.P of the main verb.

ACTIVE VOICE

1. Bartholdi designed “The Statue of Liberty.

PASSIVE VOICE
1. “The Statue of Liberty was designed by Bartholdi.
