EMPATHIZE, DEFINE AND IDEATE (DESIGN THINKING)

EMPATHIZE->
Understanding of the users, their needs, and the problems.
For a flameless stove to work for the 6-10 yr old kids, one must see that they
may not be using the product for cooking complex food. They are under
supervision of Parents, and they need to follow some instructions like put the
cooker on the stove, using the functionality of the product-> pressing the
buttons, setting timer. The design of the product should not be as complex as it
should be (like pilot machine!). A simple usage and protective product will be
effective one.

DEFINE->
Analyse your observations and synthesise them in order to
define the core problems.
The Define stage will help the designers in your team gather
great ideas to establish features, functions, and any other
elements that will allow them to solve the problems or, at the
very least, allow users to resolve issues themselves with the
minimum of difficulty.
We could define the following question in our mind as follows:-> How can we
make a lightweight, fully-functional but simple Flameless stove so as to be used
by as easy as for a 6-10ys old kid.
Features of the Flameless Stove includes -> Highly protective coating on the
wire, A robust system against accidental water-flow. A lightweight but strong
product. And a easy to use function buttons and the screen on it.
We also say that we have to decrease the chances of mishap happenings,
that’s the reason the product should be full-proof for a kid.
With the help of expert electric designer and design engineers, we can make
this product as easy and safe as it should be.
Ideate->
Identify new solutions to the problem statement you’ve created,
and you can start to look for alternative ways of viewing the
problem.

We can start combining different problems produced in the define section and
generate creative ideas on it.
Ideas to solve this problem for flameless stove features includes:->
 Reducing the size of the flameless stove
 A Design pattern for the stove to make it more visible and identifiable for the
kids.
 A proper length wire for connection.
 A proper balance and object holding capacity.
 In case, of any mishap, 6-10 yr old kid should able to identify emergency
button, so as to activate and trigger an alarm, where the stove immediately
stops and cools down.
So these are the statements for the Flameless stove product design to ensure
maximum safety and minimal risk.
Final Conclusion about Product:-> We need to create a light-weight, Easy to use,
Shock proof and an trigger for an emergency call.
Above is a prototype of the final image.
We need to re-iterate around the Empathize, Definition and Ideate Process and
continue improving the features and identifying hidden problems associated with it.
Thank you.
