HEARTSINE SAMARITAN PAD SAM 350P

To All Respective Flight Attendant,

Bersama dengan ini kami bermaksud untuk menginformasikan revisi dan jenis baru dari automatic external
defibrillator. Adapun informasi tersebut adalah sebagai berikut :

Together with this we order to inform you of revisions and new types of automatic external defibrillators. The
information is as follows:

3.3.5 AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR

3.3.5.1 HEART START FR2 SERIES DEFIBRILLATOR

DESCRIPTION

An AED is portable device that checks the hearth rhythm and can send an electric shock to the hearth to try
to restore a normal rhythm. AED is used to treat sudden cardiac arrest.

OPERATION:

 Check for sign of Sudden Cardiac Arrest :


 Unresponsive
 Not Breathing Normally

 Insert the battery of Defibrillator


1. Turn On 2. Bare chest. Clean and dry if needed

3. Open grey pads case 4. Peal each pad

5. Place pads on chest 6. Analyzing…Stand back

7. Press flashing orange push button ` 8. For CPR help : Press the flashing blue button

1. Insert key at beginning of rescue 2. Place pads on back and chest

3.3.5.2 HEARTSINE SAMARITAN PAD SAM 350P

DESCRIPTION
The SAM 350P has been designed to work on unconscious, non responsive patients. If the patient is
responsive or conscious, do not use the SAM 350P to provide treatment.
The SAM 350P uses an interchangeable battery and electrode pack called Pad- Pak. The SAM 350P in
combination with an adult Pad-Pak is suitable for use on patients of over 25 kilograms (55 pounds) in weight
or equivalent to a child of approximately eight years old or over.
NOTE : For patient is under 55 lbs / 25 kg or 8 years old the Defibrillator only use by medical assitance.
Do not delay treatment trying to find out the patient’s exact age and weight.

OPERATION :
1. Move the patient to a safe location, or remove any source of danger.
PRECAUTION: You must use the Samaritan PAD at least 6 feet/2 meters from all radio frequency devices,
or switch off any equipment causing electromagnetic interference.
2. While waiting for the AED, try to do CPR and call for medical assistance, see SEP Chapter 6.10.25
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)
3. Inserting a Pad-Pak
4. Press the On/Off Button to turn On AED.

5. Defibrillation therapy is tailored with Pad-Pak is installed.

6. When Pad-Pak installed you will hear Adult Patient.

7. Remove clothing for patient chest, removing any metal (bras or jewelry) where possible from the pad
placement area. Dry the patient’s chest if wet or clammy

8. Pull the green tab to remove the electrode padpouch from the AED

9. Peel the liner from each electrode pad

10. Tear open the pouch to remove the electrode pads.

11. Apply each electrode pad firmly to the patient’s bare chest
Note: For a patient over 8 years of age or weighing over 55 lbs/25 kg, place one electrode pad
horizontally on the right chest, and the other vertically on the left rib cage.

12. The AED will Automatically assessing the heart rhythm

If you again hear the prompt to apply pads firmly to patient’s bare chest, check that the:
 Pads are placed correctly as per pad placement shown.
 Pads are not touching and at least 2.5 cm apart.
 Entire surface of each pad is adhered to bare skin. If the chest is hairy, shave the chest; If the chest is
wet, dry the chest.
 Ensure the Pad-Pak has not expired, and is correctly inserted into the device.
 When prompted, ensure that you are not touching the patient. When advised that a shockable
rhythm is detected, stand clear of patient as directed. When advised to do so, press the orange
shock button.

13. When advised that a shockable rhythm is not detected, begin CPR. To do so, place overlapping hands in
the middle of the patient’s chest and, with straight arms, press firmly and quickly in time with the
metronome. Continue to perform CPR until the AED begins to analyze the patient’s heart rhythm again.

14. Repeat the process from step 11 until emergency services arrive.
When emergency services arrive, press the On/Off button to turn off the AED and remove the electrode
pads.
