HOW TO CREATE A CASPER IMAGING DRIVE

PREREQUISITES:
• External Drive - At least 500GB
• Image DMG - Latest Casper_HDD Image located on Server
• A Macintosh Computer - Disk utility used to create the drive

Steps:

1. Open Disk Utility via Spotlight:

2. Select External drive and create 2 Partitions:

• Choose “Partition” from the buttons located above

• Click on the “ + “ dial to add partition

• Select Primary partition and resize it to 40GB and rename it to “CASPER HDD”
• Select Secondary partition and rename it to ”CasperShare” Then click
“Apply”

3. Copy Latest (Casper HDD) image from server onto desktop

• Click on Finder icon from dock

• Input keystroke: “Command ⌘ + K” (Connect to server)
• Type in Server Address: “smb://usnjpdcasper1v” then click “Connect”

• Copy “Casper_HDDv2_10.11.dmg” onto desktop via Drag & Drop

4. Go back to Disk Utility and re-image Casper HDD

• Highlight the “Casper HDD” Partition

• Click and choose “Edit” from the top menu and select “Restore”

• Click on the “image” button

• Select the “Casper_HDDv2_10.11.dmg” Image from “Desktop” then choose

“Restore”

• Allow the process to complete

5. Prepare “CasperShare” Partition

• Open Network share “CasperShare” and copy the following folders onto
your “CasperShare” partition on the External HDD:
o Casper Data
o Packages
o PPDs
o Printer Drivers
o Scripts

Once All Complete you have just finished compiling your Casper Drive ready for use at Polo Ralph
Lauren. Enjoy.
