Actions in combat

PCs get one move and one combat action as well as two simple actions ( stowing/drawing
weapons, talking, etc) and unlimited free actions ( within GM discretion)

Move: Move up to your speed attribute ( in meters). Can be taken in any order.

Free actions: Anything instant such as wound soak, reactions, or certain talents. GM discretion

Simple actions: Talking, flipping a switch, drawing a weapon, etc. Two per turn. GM discretion
applies.

Combat: Any action not free or simple. Only one per turn unless multi-action is used.

Full action: Anything that requires a character’s full attention and uses their entire turn

Movement actions
Standard move: Move up to your speed attribute in meters. Can include climbing and jumping,
crawling, etc.

Run: Move again equal to your speed attribute ( combat action)

Sprint: Move up to double your speed in a straight line. A sprinting character suffers -2 defence
until the end of their next turn. You may not spring more than once per turn and may not
combine the run and sprint actions

Climbing: climb meters equal to half your speed. May attempt to climb at full speed with a DN 3
agility test ( or DN of GMs discretion)

Combat Options
Melee attack: Weapon Skill amount of dice with a DN equal to the target’s Defense.

Ranged attack: Ballistic Skill amount of dice with a DN equal to the target’s Defense.

Interaction attack: Use various skills to trick or hinder an enemy and imply vulnerable or
hindered. Any shifts increase the penalty by +1 and if a player shifts 3 exalted icons then
something else happens to the target in addition to the mentioned effects. Again, GM discretion.

Full Defense: Sacrifice your entire round to focus on defense. Speed is halved. Make an agility
roll. Any icons are added to defense rating (+1) and the minimum result is 1. This action may be
taken as part of a multi-action but the character then forfeits their next turn.
Hold action: Hold an action to act later in a round. If used to interrupt an NPc then must pass
initiative contest. Characters lose their turn if their held action does not trigger.
Multi-action: Make more than one action in a round. The DN of any tests made increases by +2
for each additional action you wish to take. Multi-actions must be stated before any test is made
and each test carries the same penalty. No same action may be taken twice.

Multiattack: Target multiple enemies with a melee or ranged attack. DN increases by +2 for
each additional target beyond the first. Make only one attack roll to adjudicate. Roll damage for
each target separately. If the multi attack is melee you must have enough speed to reach all of
the targets.

Disengage: Use an action to retreat from engaged targets without taking AoO

Reload: Reload because of a complication. May also be used to reduce multi attack DN by +2
spending 1 reload up to the weapon’s salvo rating. Salvo may not be used with multi attack.

Melee options
Charge: Combine move and combat action to make a special attack. Character must make a full
move of speed in meters and then melee attack. +1d attack bonus.

All out attack: Forgo caution and attack. +2d bonus to attack and -2 penalty to defense until
next turn. May not use a multi action if you use this.

Ranged attacks
Aim: Sacrifice movement to get a +1d bonus to ranged attacks

Called shot: Take a called shot to a weak point. DN penalty varies.

Medium (Arm or Leg) -+2 DN and +1 BD

Small (Hands or Head) - +4 DN and +2 BD
Tiny (Eye Slit, Joints, etc) - +6 DN and +3 BD

Salvo: Spend one reload to gain additional bonus dice to their attack roll equal to the weapon’s
salvo value. May be included with other options such as multi-action but not multi-attack.

Damage
If damage equals but does not exceed the player’s resilience then take 1d3 shock damage. If
damage exceeds their resilience suffer 1 wound per damage point over the resilience total

Soaking wounds: Roll dice equal to toughness with no wrath die. Each icon reduces wounds by
1 and exalted icons by 2. Soaking damage causes 1 shock and 1 additional shock per wound
negate this way.
